LA's structure is ridiculous

I was at the Jets game tonight and the first thing I thought when Ehlers got to the slot for his first goal was "LA would not have allowed that to happen"

Teams have 3 months to figure out how to exploit that. That's the type of hockey that wins in the playoffs
Yeah no system is infallible. I think with the Kings you really need to go up top and just pepper the net with shots. You need guys that can filter shots through, they don't have to be cannons. With all of that traffic that's how you have to score. If you are trying to create a work of art or bring the puck to the middle of the ice you're going to struggle.

Agreed, and then you need to get bodies to the net for rebounds/deflections. We don't have a ton of guys that can battle ther way in there

Yeah I think we have enough though. Lowry, Niederrater, Vilardi. Kupari and Barron should be able to. I think we can have a guy on every line that goes there.

The Kings did a good job of clogging everything up. The Jets had a little more success in the 3rd when they stopped trying to dump and chase every zone entry. The first two periods, there was just too much outnumbered board battling in the Kings zone, and on the odd occasion they had possession, the Kings would often have two guys quickly converge on the puck carrier with the other guys cutting off passing options. It took the Jets a long time to puzzle their way out of it.

They're a frustrating team to play.

Listened to the oilers kings game last night - LA had shut the oilers down and skinner saved them... then LA just couldnt close the deal

D first but they do seem to lack high end scoring

I would be very surprised if he was claimed. $5.4M annual cap hit and signed through 2028. Play has declined sharply over the past three seasons.

Maybe a team desperate for goaltending (eg. Philly) takes him on as a reclamation project, but that’s probably in a cap dump deal with salary retention.
His year has been pretty bad - thats clear. I didn't realize his pay was so high.

How the hell do thieves know where players live?
Could be any number of ways.

My brother was a UPS driver and delivered parcels to a handful of Jets players as part of his job. Uber Eats driver, cable installer, repairman… any number of professions there for completely legit reasons that may have tipped these scumbags off and had them case the place.

There’s a reason why many guys leave those rings in safe deposit boxes. Sucks for Malkin, hopefully they’re dumb criminals and do something brazen like trying to pawn the rings off for a quick buck.

Found this in one of the news reports:

The alarm system and cameras at the home happened to be down at the time of the break-in and his safe had been kept open, sources say.

Suspicious, no?
