Agreed. He probably gets chased out of Montreal. When he goes stale on the PP, his glaring weaknesses will be too great to ignore.
A lot of weaknesses on that team. Scoring goal gets the fans attention. The glaring weaknesses can be passed on to Kirby Dach, Mike Matheson, whoever, before it is obvious than Laine doesn't skate hard enough to make his lines successful.

Really dumb to trash former teammates like that. Especially against a team that just passed them in the standings, with the motivation coming from outside.

The Laine hat trick: score a goal, get injured, demand a trade.

He's a tiresome person. What a waste of talent.
The real albatross hanging from his neck here is he was a big part of why Columbus was so bad when he was there. He wasn’t a superstar rookie carrying a garbage team like Bedard. He was an underperforming veteran who didn’t even play half the time.

Oh, yeah, plus Montreal is a shitty team, too.

Laine seem to be a very emotionally affected character. When things are good, they are REAL good and he seems to be on top of the world and the low times seem even lower as they actually were compared to the high times he's experiencing. His up and down movements mentally show a pattern by now of someone that has, no surprise here as that is why he entered the NHLPA program, regular struggles with his well-being.

From an objective thinking POV, it was way too early and overall completely unnecessary to say these things about CBJ while not even having played half a season with Montreal. It was purely emotionally driven on a huge high after his last games and goals. But next thing you know, something goes wrong, that high is interrupted out of nowhere and depending on how "bad" this interruption is, it could destroy everything good there was before. I personally really, really hope for him he has his own sports psychologist he gets to see whenever he wants by now.

You can see the pattern of behavior of a depressed person from a mile away. That is the reason why his career seems like the most craziest rollercoaster ride. You get half a season of him being one of the best goalscorers in the league and then you get half a season of him struggling to be part of something positive even, let alone being an elite goalscorer.

If things are good, they are REAL good. If things are bad, they can get REAL bad.

Laine can’t help himself can he, what an idiot. He is a lazy, entitled, f*** nut that loves throwing shade on others when he implodes.
Yeah that was a really idiotic thing to say. It's fine to think it but what exactly does it do? He's already out, let sleeping dogs lie.

Teams don't need players like that, I don't care of he has had a scoring resurgence.

Can he receive a firm pass on the back hand yet? Does he win any board battles yet? Does he still float when the puck is on his own end?
Hmmm
Sure he scores but has he broken out of these habits?

All the god given talent, what a waste. Eight years in the league and no improvement on his 5v5.

Still tries to stick handle thru the neutral zone and gets stripped. He has the frame to dominate in the corners, but waits on the blue line waiting for the breakout. But what a nasty shot.

Hey, when Gretzky called the Devils a Mickey Mouse organization, that spurred them to turn it around and become one of the most successful franchises of the past 30 years (10 years after he said it, but still!)

Dillion and Lowry were the enforcers.
Miss Dillion thought he was a great team guy.
I can understand why they let him go though
