Just saw that the Habs are tied for last in thr NHL with Chicago. Makes me chuckle to think about all the MTL fans on the trade boards a couple of summers saying that they didn't want to derail their amazing rebuild by trading any assets for PLD

They should of done it. It's not like he could have made them any worse

Trotz and the Preds continuing to give away their former first rounders for next to nothing with the Tomasino trade.

The kid had about three straight years scoring around the half a point per game average prior to this year. Seems very short sighted to give him away.

That org is really in a rough stretch in terms of development.

Habs were trying to jump start the rebuild by catching young "falling knife" former top picks NHLers in Dach and Newhook for late picks. Would have been better off just using the late firsts.

Interesting incident with Biz at Houston’s in Scottsdale. One of my favourite establishments in that city.

The group of 5 or 6 guys that ganged up on him got taken to jail after the incident. Hopefully someone caught it on their cell phone but that’s an older clientele there so we’ll see.

Glad the cops got there fast enough.

I saw Biz posting yesterday and some jokes from Whitney about it but don't know what specifically happened other than he got jumped and "gave more than he got" (according to Biz...although I don't doubt it...who's tangling with an ex-NHL enforcer type?)

I heard Biz’s side of the story and it sounded like at any given moment he was fighting 3 or 4 of the guys at the same time. Sounded a bit intense, at one point he was down and three/four guys laying the boots to him, he made it back up. Lost his shirt and both his shoes in the brawl.

Sounded like some drunk loudmouth types that were harassing and physically intimidating the Managment. Biz tried to calm down the situation and was assaulted. The odd thing is this establishment is an older really well healed clientele and its not a bar its kind of a restaurant with a holding bar and not lounge. It looked like some out of control drunk guys.

Five guys were charged with misdemeanor assault and misdemeanor disorderly conduct. One guy was booked on Felony charges of aggravated assault, forgery, and a misdemeanor charge of dissorderly conduct.

I think that is where a lot of rebuilds fail. Get impatient, try to speed it up. > Start over with rebuild 2.0. Rinse, repeat.

Or you end up like Buffalo in a constant state of rebuild and trading players away who always preform better after you move them. Eichel, ROR, Reinhart, They just keep spinning their tires over there and they aren't even trying to speed it up.

Colorado got absolutely spanked tonight. You have to wonder if Bednar's days are numbered.
Avs goaltending is hilariously awful. 0.870 team save percentage is like 1980s goaltending. (Too bad we couldn’t see this in April…)

I think it’s likely past the point where they hope Georgiev/Annunen snaps out of it, and they’re going to overpay for someone like John Gibson or Cam Talbot. It’s probably the only way they salvage the season.
