I like Chisholm but he has one assist playing 13 minutes a game. I'm sure he's doing well in a sheltered bottom pairing role but the fact that model somehow thinks he's a top pairing player is a pretty big indictment of the model.
But.... but... but....

The numbers and pretty graphs say the thing! THE THING!!!!!!

What's sG?
It's a bullshit model

We're 11-1. The "we'd be better off if X" argument left the building a LONG time ago, with tweener waiver fodder Dmen AND our top line. Some people still look for any shred of evidence to backup their opinion that they're smarter than TNSE coaching and management

The TSN power rankings dropped the Jets to 2nd place. Their reasoning, they used analytics and found that the Canes deserved the top spot over wins. It was so funny, anything to deny the Jets their due respect. TSN is a joke.

Honestly, you lose to the leafs you don’t deserve top spot.

If we can keep this winning percentage then we’ll finish 74-7 which is unrealistic but that is what mathematically we are on pace for.

2 straight losses in Finland for the Stars. They get 4 days off now, come home to play Chicago then on the road against us next Saturday.

Jets play Lightning then 3 straight against the Central on the home stand. 3-0 vs Central this season.
Interesting to see if Stars recover from Jet lag before meeting the Jets.
Remember the glory days when Jets had fantastic Finnish players and travel to Finland to play the Panthers
Billed as Laine vs Barkov.

I think that person's point was how low the guys the Jets kept were in particular Stan. Chisholm I agree is too early to say but with Kovacevic, he has played significant minutes in a bottom and middle pairing role with the Habs, and now in a top and 2nd pairing role withe NJ. So with him it is hard to ignore his results.

What's sG?

It is HockeyViz/Micah Blake's catch all metric for player performance sG: Synthetic Goals

The Canes lost to the Bolts and Blues, the team who took the top spot. You think the Canes are objectively better?

Canes likely have a lot better underlying stats right now. Level of competition, expected goals for and against and PDO probably play a big factor in that. Our pace of play is obviously unsustainable. I mean we aren't going to go 75-7 that much is for sure.

We should just enjoy the ride right now because we will lose a few in a row at some point here. Don't worry about what everyone else is saying. We are never going to get our due from the media so give up on ever getting it.

It makes me uncomfortable when we get love from outsiders. I prefer to go unnoticed while larger more deserving markets (ratings wise) get gushed on and over analyzed for both better and worse.

It’s all noise anyways so when the dial is turned down to zero I find it most peaceful.

100%

I was loving the lack of attention our hot start was getting. It really only started to build when we were up against the Leafs. The schedule starts getting more competitive in short order here. Utah, Colorado, Dallas, NYR, Tampa and Florida twice.

If we are still winning at a blistering pace then the noise around the team will get crazy but I think we likely take 3 or 4 of the 7 at most and our record starts coming back down to earth and the media can go back to ignoring us.

If we were 1-11 right now i might care about losing Kovacevic but we are 11-1 and we have Fleury and Heinola sitting as extras and the little Fleury played i liked his game.
