That was a really impressive sequence for Fantilli.

While I guess I’m not terribly surprised we picked Leo (and I think they made the right choice actually) what kind of surprised me is how Verbeek pretty much knew who he wanted very early on. I think Alexis or somebody asked him right after the Lotto if he knew who he wanted and he responded affirmatively.” It didn’t sound like it was really up for debate; at least not intensely.

I remember hearing/reading him say “I think so” when she asked. This was probably right after the lotto

I think the gist of Pat's comment was that he was leaning to Leo for a while and nothing he saw as the season evolved, ever swayed him from that position.

My recollection is that Verbeek stated he had two players he was considering. He was initially leaning towards one player, Fantilli, but the scouts pushed him towards Carlsson. By mid-point of the season, his mind was made up. It was Carlsson, and he didn't look back.

This has to be the year for the Kings. Likely home-ice advantage riding regular season dominance at Staples, Draisaitl may not be 100% heading into Game 1, Hyman’s banged up, Ekholm potentially done for the season.
