Around the NHL - (2024-25)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Nothing pleases me more then seeing the Flyers free fall to the bottom of the league. Karma for their pathetic fans wishing injury and death on a kid, for not wanted to play, for that pathetic city
killed me when they were chanting "jamie's better" during the ducks game when they'd been trashing the guy nonstop before and after

thanks for gauthier, assholes

Ok this is pretty dang funny.

Interesting.

So, can he be one and done at ncaa after next season? Could be a lot more CHL high picks not sign their elc so quickly this summer.

I would have to read up further on the rules regarding his signing status. Unsure how that would work, would need to be signed by next June if he stayed in the CHL obviously. No idea if the move to the NCAA affects that or not.

Wonder if part of the reason he's gone to the NCAA is that the schedule is easier in terms of volume of games? Given he's only played 32 games (and none this season) across his last two seasons, might give him a chance to get his back right without playing potentially 60+ games.

At the risk of looking like an idiot (not very hard to be fair), I think Lindstrom has the potential to be one of the biggest top 5 busts we've seen in a while.

Could be. But I also think he and his agent likely believe that once healthy he will help advance his career more by playing NCAA than playing CHL.

I think there are several factors to going the NCAA route. Playing fewer games, mostly on the weekends, is a benefit after missing a whole year of hockey, but also is a great schedule to muscle building or strengthening and rest period under great monitoring. Some programs are great at providing nutritional diet to go along with the weight building.

Another aspect is that Lindstrom needs to play against a higher level of competition because he's too good for the CHL. CHL player age range is from 16 to 20 years old. The NCAA age range is from 18 to 25 years old. Lindstrom had a significant boost in goal and points production between his D-1 and D+0 seasons.

There could also be the fact that the bigger NCAA schools have medicals on campus or nearby. It's possible that the Bluejackets chose MSU particularly so he can be monitored by the school. MSU has two medical schools on campus: school of medicine (conventional) and school of osteopathic (holistic approach). It might be easier to touch base with Lindstrom at the NCAA level weekly to gauge his back issue by contacting the MSU's medical school. And with the technology always improving, who know what else MSU's school of medicine can develop with Lindstrom as part of their study. Jack Eichel got his spine fixed through newer medical procedures.

Lindstrom might be a medical bust than a player bust. (See stats above.) That's why some scouts are still weary about 2025 prospect Roger McQueen's back injury and not wanting to use a top-5 pick on him. If McQueen, with the Brandon Wheat Kings, go far into the playoffs and McQueen produces well in all the games, then it might reduce the concern about his back injury. Back to Lindstrom, going to the NCAA route is a good litmus test against higher level of competition. And it might take some time for him to get back into his groove. Our own Luneau missed half a season due to staph infection and it took him over half a season in the AHL for things to click. I hope he isn't a bust b/c talent like his helps the NHL great to watch as well as grow the market. With more and more talks of more expansion teams, the NHL will need a lot more talented players on the ice to maintain a high level of watchability.

I think that goal call for Toronto in the Kings game is one of the absolute worst calls this season. Unreal that you go to the replay and make such a terrible call.

Broberg and Holloway really seems to be thriving in St.Louis. man, Oilers could use guys like that

They should had easilly afforded at least Holloway
