How long was the OT?

Watching this tournament shows how far the ducks are from truly competing and contending for a SC. The ducks have only two non-goalie players on their roster that wouldn’t look completely out of place in this Canada-USA game. Terry and LaCombe. The rest would be completely overmatched IMO

Not that I (or anybody sane) believe that the Ducks are ready to compete for a cup right now, but this logic doesn't really make sense to me.

In a league with parity, every team in the league should only have a small number of players that wouldn't be out of place in a best-on-best tournament. We may only have 1 or 2 but the best teams only have 3 or 4.

Hell, the SCF Oilers only had one in this game. The only other players they have who might not look out of place are Ekholm and Draisaitl.

Hyman, Bouchard

my Point is more that we don’t have any close to dominant players and only have a couple guys who could not look out of place at a best on best tournament.

I wasn’t writing a dissertation, just an observation on a Saturday night….

the Ducks have very few guys who could keep up with the speed and level play we’re seeing in these games. Good teams may only have 3/4 guys who’d be on the team but they’d have multiple additional players who could keep pace.
