I don't recall that total amount was more. I just know the AAV was higher, but the term was far shorter. Verbeek was really stuck to his rubric when he was first hired. Years later, he's offering multi-year deals to 34-year old Killorn (4 years) and 33-year old Gudas (3 years). Lindholm's 8th year of his 8-year term, he would be 35 years old. Lindholm's AAV with Boston was $6.5 mil AAV, but said he would have given the Ducks a hometown discount. Verbeek gave Killorn $6.25 mil AAV.

No idea why there's hate for Lindholm when he wanted to stay for less to finish his career with the Ducks.

Jiricek was probably a better rated prospect coming out than Drysdale was. OTOH, Drysdale had showed a bit more in actual NHL games, despite the injuries.

I bet if they'd shopped Jiricek last year though, Philly might have taken him over Drysdale for Cutter. So I guess it's lucky for us.

Exactly. The idea that the Wild won the trade already is quite a bit on the premature side. Time will tell.
