Best destination for him imo, all he has to do is make a routine pass of the puck to McDavid/Drai and there is a decent chance he gets a secondary assist with the way those two score.

Laine was the reason we shouldn’t have overbid on Laine. Just because he’s working over the short term doesn’t mean that the reasons for being run out of two towns because of who is is on and off the ice wouldn’t reoccur here (or still won’t in Montreal). He’s the antithesis of a Verbeek player.

Today’s skilled players have mostly grown up in a friendly environment. The shift to dead puck era officiating is going to cause some pushback.
