I wish they explored the canyon idea more, even if it’s clunky and doesn’t make a lot of sense as a team name. Utah has 5 amazing national parks. Would’ve been great to draw on that. That’s why I’m leaning toward Mammoth. It’s a shame that “Rangers” is already taken, because that would’ve been a slam dunk.

I don’t think an older generation takes accountability for things. Just that they’ve probably driven drunk a few times, so they’re probably gonna be more careful to not get caught. Like I’m sure a 50+ year old, even though they know they shouldn’t drive drunk, is going to be more cautious as a whole, even if they speed. Whereas a 20 year old in junior hockey will think they’re indestructible, so eff the rules.

Like both instances are stupid and immature behaviour, but one group will have a bit of (deluded) thought process behind it. One thinks they’re just driving 5 blocks home, and the other is going out longer with their bros.

Regardless nobody should ever drive drunk. Call an uber or a cab or a friend or walk. It’s not worth the risk.

His new agency are the folks who got Matthews his 4-year deal that allowed him to get a large payout twice. I wouldn't be surprised if that's Dobson's desired outcome.

Personally, I think EP40's value has plummeted to the point my offer would be Cozens or Byram straight up. Not both. That contract is just too awful a value.

And that's the risk inherent in taking him on - is this the player he will be going forward and if so, that's not a player worth $11M. Need info on his condition more than anything.

I don't think it's sunk THAT low that it's a straight up think. One or the other plus a prospect or pick.

Right this minute, I'd still be OK with Cozens and Byram......largely because Cozens' performances aren't getting any better and might be getting worse.

I am fine with missing out. Even though I would do the Cozens for EP40 trade I proposed, I think there is a high likelihood we lose out even on that.

We can probably get better complimentary pieces trading Cozens and Byram separately elsewhere even though it would lack the perceived star value EP40 brings. Just getting a good 3rd line center and a no frills defensive defenseman would do a lot. That doesn't even take into account the anchor of a contract EP40 has.

I have watched 3 Vancouver games since the rumors heated up and then this 4 Nations deal and I see nothing of value. Just a small, soft player with no flashes of brilliance. I am just desperate enough to take a bit of blindfolded swing and pray.

Came to correct you on the "small" part. He's listed at 6'2", but only 176 lb. Right you are, sir.

You'd think he'd have packed some decent mass on that frame by age 26.
