No chance Siegs was targeted for his nationality and how it would mesh in the Devils locker room. It was excellent asset management by Fitz to take advantage of the Kraken expansion draft.
Siegenthaler was blocked because WSH decided to bring in old man Chara and he took Siege's spot. He was sitting in the press box for like half of that season and we got him for pennies on the dollar.

Graves was the Seattle expansion guy, Colorado didn't have enough spots to protect him. And he was a worthy pick up for what he was, not a great player but we got 2 solid years out of him and then moved on. Sometimes that's the best you can hope for.

Murray was awful. Too slow his entire career and couldn’t skate. He was a worse Colin White. He was a true pylon. True grenade handler. Every negative defenseman stereotype there is.

A lot of people gave Shero heat for what he paid for him at the 2013 deadline. He only played one more year in the league after that.

I was up in San Jose visiting friends and I was tempted to catch this Sharks/Ducks preseason game since I was in the area. Ended up not going, but I laughed when I checked the box score and saw that Murray (7 goals in 518 career games) had a hat trick. I've still never seen a hat trick live. [/coolstorybro]

Listened to a bit of Frank Seravalli's morning podcast. His cohost brought up the rumors about Kakko being "untouchable" at last year's deadline and they seemed to indicate that was something leaked from the Rangers side to pump his tires rather than teams actively asking for him.

Get ready for GM Avery, it's most definitely something Dolan would do.
The article implied that Drury might be doing Dolan's bidding, particularly after Glen Sather took a less hands-on role with the Rangers. He might be there for another couple of years. If the case of Isiah Thomas is any indication, it could actually get worse!

If I recall correctly, his nickname was "Crankshaft", which is cool.

my wife is working on a new novella, and she was asking me for some help fleshing out some believable plot points as she does from time to time when she lacks expertise in a specific area I read/know a lot about

And so yesterday, I got to introduce her to JD & The Straight Shot and play her Under That Hood. She was so mad. It did help her with a story mechanic, though.

I would guess Zibanejad or Kreider, if they're able to find a buyer.

Either way, I hope the return is just as underwhelming.
Zib has a full no move. Don't think he's gonna go anywhere unless it's so toxic he just wants out. But with the term left on that deal and the way he's playing, I have no idea why anyone would take it on. Looks like one of the worst contacts in hockey right now. 8.5 for 5 more years with a full no move for every year until 7 days prior to the trade deadline in 2030 lol. All salary is signing bonus so it's buy out proof.

31 years old, a black hole at 5 on 5, pacing for under 60 points now I think.

Did anyone else read that LoHud article about the Rangers culture? Damning stuff. Drury's made a fine mess of things there. Apparently, the social media team isn't allowed to even travel with the team.

I did now - I wanted a framed copy of that article as a Christmas gift.

Here's the link for others: Do the Rangers have a culture problem? An exclusive look at what's bubbling at MSG

Hell of a dumpster fire going on at MSG. Drury is the gift that keeps giving year round and looks like he might not be going anywhere anytime soon.

Some rags fans think he's been checked out since his kids been born, and all he wants to do is be w fam and DJ - wonder if there's any truth to that at all and if the passion is gone
