I’m pretty sure Facebook is the opposite of where Blackwood got his medical degree.Well now that Blackwood has gotten his medical degree from Facebook Medical School he’s too pricey

Incase anyone was wondering what Nemecs value would be… think it’s pretty massive considering he had a better last year (I don’t think we should trade him).
It’s weird because I knew that Minnesota strangely was having a great start to the season but my mind still reverted to thinking the pick would be a mid 1st rounder which made the trade seem more even. If it ends up a late 1st it definitely hurts to lose a recent 6th overall for a bunch of picks. If we traded Nemec now for Minny’s 2020 3rd Rd #65 pick, a LHD who’s been in the AHL for several seasons, and some meh picks, this place would freak the f*** out.
Hunt is the Wild’s 8th best prospect on EPRinkside’s list.
The Wild have the 2nd best win % in the NHL. Sure, they may cool down, but that 2025 1st is looking real late.
And 2nd in 2027? Then two more random picks for good measure. Woopie.
This trade is just bizarre.
Either the new regime in Columbus didn’t think much of Jiricek at all or the relationship between the team and the player is super toxic.
And the other offers must have been underwhelming.
People compared the situation to Cutter Gauthier and Rutger McGroaty but they were unsigned NCAA players.
Theoretically Jiricek could threaten to go to Europe, but there’s been no report about that being an issue and that’s typically an empty threat.
Amusing reading the Jiricek trade articles from the Columbus and Minnesota beat writers on The Athletic. You can sorta understand it from both sides.
Columbus: If Jiricek couldn't clearly beat out guys like Jack Johnson and Jordan Harris, they might be trading him while he has some new car smell rather than have him languish like Filip Zadina. They didn't think his trade value would suddenly spike any time soon. New GM can't do anything about where the previous GM/administration picked him.
Minnesota: Reasonable gamble as they have an idea of the type of players who'll be available in the 20s in this year's draft. Jiricek in theory could help this season.
Maybe not exactly the same, but the Islanders drafted Griffin Reinhart 4th overall in what was considered a weaker draft in 2012. They flipped him for the 15th (Barzal) and 33rd (eventually Beauvillier) picks in 2015. We'll see if Columbus can salvage it.
I can't wait for Luke to reach his peak like his older brothers. It's going to be a filthy watch.Quinn Hughes played 31:04 and had 3 assists in the Canucks 5 to 4 win over the Red Wings. He helped us out.
So the Avs traded an .872 goalie for an .878 goalie? Um...well I guess technically it's an improvement.
