I feel like they would rather this not happened and they keep him. And if they suck again, they can trade him for a nice package at the deadline.

He's still a top forward.
That's why I'm skeptical they're the ones that leaked it, there's no upside for them...I doubt the fans have any real attachment to keeping any player aside from Shesterkin, Fox and maybe one or two others at this point. OTOH maybe Drury doesn't give a shit about leaking it if he's getting fired anyway.

Issue is its two sides having a different conversation. Both are discussing societal issues but at different angles; almost like its from both the prosecutors and defendants positions

I understand its sports related but ive always felt these types of stories shouldnt be discussed within the same channels

A legal setting, maybe even a law-based subreddit, would be a better place to have such charged debates. Topics like this need that subtle-nuance so that emotions dont run high.. something I dont think can be properly done on a sports forum

Edit: because sadly, questions such as those you mention, are quite important to the investigation and further legal tendering of such a case. But to the average Joe, it comes across as being doubtful of the victim (and in a lot of those cases, especially on the internet, it can be exactly that)
Indeed, every word of this is true. Unfortunately, there are NHL consequences to this so to a degree it has to be discussed...but the back and forth here is fast getting to the point where it's just going to devolve into personal attacks and the discussion will have to be stopped.

While on the one hand I don't really respect the whole 'automatically be suspect of the alleged victim' mindset, on the other hand I guess by nature then the rest of us are automatically suspect of the accused. Someone's gotta be in the wrong. Thing is, there's already a Panarin assault story out there that most of us including me dismissed as Russian propaganda at the time. How many of these types of stories have to come out before Mr. Nice Guy in the media isn't really that?

Plus let's be honest, her being guilty of lying isn't exactly as vile as him actually being guilty of assault so I'd prefer to focus on the worst possible outcome, which is that this happened the way it was reported. ****, how do we know it wasn't Panarin himself who outed her on the pill thing as some sort of revenge for not playing along with him...maybe that's actually why that was the last straw for her. One thing to threaten me, now you might get me suspended or fired on top of it?

As someone who has had struggles with constantly overthinking, I think a tip I was given could be best used here for this as well:

'Time doesnt heal all wounds,
but it also doesnt cause many'

Its about how we process things and, if we take our time, it shouldnt ever be too long. Stepping back and taking a moment or ten is almost always a better option

Edit: dont give that shitty quote to my old man though; hed have you know Father Time is the only reason hes wearing down lmfao

If it was crackhead Bob making accusations after being caught dealing drugs... Nobody would even listen to his story...add the salaciousness of the damsel in distress...throw everything else out the window.

I get it.

Someone posted a tweet in the Rangers forum of an insider saying there is a very slim chance they fire Drury. Amazing.
Boston is keeping Cam and Don (from everything they said) and will continue to blame the coaches who were more successful immediately after they left.

I mean that's a fair point but a lot of the hockey culture is pretty rotten speaking from experience playing at lower levels. I can't even imagine how bad it is at the higher levels.

I think the players being in charge is one of thr biggest reasons the culture has that rotten core. There are supposed to be adults in charge but too often the adults adbicate their position of leadership

I thought he was chocolate Bob?

Reminds me a bit of Adam Larsson before/after DeBoer. Larsson made a bad play which led to a John Tavares OT goal after the coaching change. If that had happened under DeBoer he probably would have been scratched the next game. Scott Stevens told Larsson to learn from it and that he was still gonna keep throwing him out there.

Larsson 2014-15:
DeBoer - 18 GP, 1 goal, 3 assists, 4 points, -3, ~16:30/game
Stevens - 46 GP, 2 goals, 18 assists, 20 points, +5, ~22:40/game

Unless they are personal friends of Jim Dolan, I doubt they know. Firing a President & GM is such an individual ownership decision that doesn’t often get leaked because the people who would normally talk and leak it aren’t informed. It’s why GM firing often take insiders by surprised unless the team is obviously floundering and it is clear the GM is out of their depth (I.e Hextall in Pittsburgh).

Gotta think that off-ice turmoil related to drug use and how the team handled this sexual assault allegation were major contributors to turmoil on the ice for that team this season.
