You missed his point completely, they'll be better players coming into the league by then and the Avs will probably be on the downswing with their core, they have to go for it right now when MacK is in peak along with Makar and the rest of the Avs crew.
People have to chill with windows closing Colorado window isn’t closing in two years unless some crazy injuries happen. I don’t care what makar resigns for and I don’t care if Nathan is 31 years old. Going by the two examples given.

But it's still in their best interest to go all in when MacK looks this good, Makar will be good for the next decade +. Forwards can enter and exit their primes quicker, chances are MacK will be an animal but you can never take that risk. Going all-in now is a sound strategy for the Avs + their guys missed out on a few years of competing after Kadri left, they'll appreciate this gesture from management to go all in once again

God no on Casey Mitts. Not what this team needs.

If he does come here, staple him to Timo and pray that you get something good out of that $14M combo.

I know people don’t like him and I’m either way on him but it’s funny because we want bottom 6 help we want a non rental and young and a decent not great contract. Like what else are we expecting ? Like even in the summer I get the wants of this guy that guy but you have to work with what’s available

This move for Nelson isn’t even a go all in move. You guys are making it sound like the Avs are going to be a lotto team next year lol whatever all I know is they will still be a cup contender in two years time

Sidney Crosby, the most accomplished active Hockey player, has not won a playoff series since he was 30. Last series win was right after the Pens won back to back cups. Despite the fact that Crosby's play did not fall off whatsoever Pittsburgh just couldn't realistically keep the supporting cast together and their window shut a year after winning back to back cups. Might as well go for it when your stars in their prime and you have a good supporting cast

Not a single person with a brain thinks that......

Avs will be good for while but you still just can't waste years of your core, TB and other teams doing the exact same things.

Lol

Rantanen simply won't sign anywhere it seems - I guess he wants to go to UFA. That's his right, but wow.

Aren't Stankoven and Robertson both slow skaters? How would that work with Rod's up-tempo system?

Grier did some 3d chess on Walman. Impressive.
He is freaking beast. He made huge work in two years. I dont remember any GM who would maximize rebuild with this level of success in this short amount of time. And every pick he made - every young player is making good things on the level they play.

Celebrini is rarely looking like future all star right from the start of his career, better than Bedard. Smith(not the best pick but very good center pick up) is looking great as future 2C. Chernyshov is destroying OHL and is showing what the difference is between kids league and mens league - he is doing much better than most top-10 draft picks being after serious injury. Hm.. better than... mostly all top-10 picks from OHL. Dickinson is doing great. Musty was great after the draft. Shakir is starting to show why he was picked where he was picked.

Awesome work. And he will pick another high level player this year.

It wil be very interesting to see how he will manage next phase.
