I liked Utah Elk. Rocky Mountain Elk is Utahs state mammal. Utah Elk sounds good when you say it out loud. Can make a nice logo out of it and mascot etc. It's much better than any of the final 3 they have to me.
That's a major change for the Flyers. I guess we have to see the full trade to judge, but this doesn't obviously fit in either "deadline rental" or "hockey trade".

That trade doesn't suck for Philly, they got rid of Farabee at a 5M cap hit when Torts doesn't like the player, Frost is whatever and they got a cap dump in Kuzmenko who's UFA at years end and Pelletier can be the swap for Frost. They're probably going to make a hard run for Petterson or whatever center comes to market in the summer if I had to guess with Couturier being practically done with another set of injuries.

It all depends on what Briere does. He's in the same boat as Drury for me that I don't trust him with the money but let's wait and see before we totally shit on him for the move. Farabee was always hated by Torts, guy got benched a ton under him so it was Briere choosing the coach over player clearly

his breakout year wasn't really a breakout year tbh. got hot shooting, scored an extra half dozen goals because of it and got used higher up the lineup because of it, padding those assist totals. he was the same guy last year as he was in 2021-22, more or less. That makes this year (which is worse FOR SURE) a little less surprising, because he's a streaky player and always has been. Just on a very long cold streak.
I like him, but I'm real glad we're not paying him.
