I’d share a particularly stupid and incomprehensible defense of Rempe, but I’m not supposed to bring politics into here. It’s one of the top posts on r/hockey right now, if you want to murder down brain cells.
I am not worried because if he does play against us the first game back he won’t be doing anything over and beyond stupid because that legit could cause him to never to play in this league again. I mean hes stupid, but not that stupid.
The problem isn’t him so much as the Rangers coaching and management telling him that this is what he needs to do in order to stay up in the NHL. He’s not doing anything outside of following orders. If it behooved the team to play skilled, he’d do that. But he isn’t.

Don't bank on it. Wouldn't surprise me if he has some serious mental issues related to his father passing when he was a teen.

Still the most incredible thing about Rempe is that he has been given 3 major penalties and nobody has scored on those power plays.

The league clearly recognizes that this guy could end a career or worse with the way he plays.

This is the reason I will NEVER feel bad for any bad fortune that befalls that team. Scummy organization that deserves every bit of failure it has endured.

Stop talking bad about the most prestigious team in the NHL. Sure they have less Cups than any original 6 team and haven't won it in over 30 years but that's not the point. They can't help it if they play in the most famous arena in the world that has seen (checks the web) one championship from the Rangers and Knicks in 50 years. They are simply famous and prestigious.

So which one of our players is going to become quadriplegic from Rempe when he returns?
The fact that the Rangers even waste their time with him shows just how unserious of an organization they are right now.

Speaking of the Canucks, I’m completely shocked they aren’t lighting up the league. I thought Tocchet was gonna get his second straight Jack Adams. It’s very unlike him to have such a meh team. He’s never missed the playoffs as a head coach in his career!

Rag fans upset that Devs disrespected them showing the Kakko draft party video today. First, Devils were nice enough to not show it while Kakko was playing for the Rags. Second, the whole thing is the Rags, and their fans were disrespecting the Devs and Jack Hughes cheering the Devils pick of Hughes. Those idiots actually though Kakko was better than Jack.

I have no sympathy for them. If the shoe was on the other foot, where Jack disappointed and Kakko became a superstar, you better believe they would be rubbing our faces in it.

It’s not our fault that your fan base was delusional enough to believe your broadcast analyst propaganda minister.

reminder that the Rangers picked 7th, 9th, 2nd, and 1st in four straight drafts, and all they have to show for it is Laf who is an okay 2nd line winger.

Hell, 2 of those guys aren't even in the NHL anymore lmao

I am the first one to shit on Lou's drafting in the mid 00's to the mid 10's, but good god...we never squandered anything like that.

It’s absolutely wild. Considering how close they got, you have to think if they hit on those picks they’d have a cup to show for it.

Meanwhile we got franchise players in Nico, Jack, and Luke with our top 5 picks

Plus you consider a team like Detroit that never got the lottery win(s) they needed and seem to be stuck in purgatory (although they were probably in a worse spot to begin with considering some of Holland's contracts). All in all, we've been pretty damn lucky with how things have worked out.

This isn't true. They traded Lias Andersson for the pick that became Will Cuylle, who looks like he's going to be a solid 'top 6' winger for years to come. They've also got some picks from the Kakko trade, who knows what they become. That said, yeah the Rangers are where they are because they blew that stretch of picks and are only coming out of it with Cuylle and Lafreniere - they ended up selling high on Andersson.

On a wider note, the league absolutely has to be taking notice of these shotless games that teams are playing - Washington had 11 shots against Boston tonight, the Devils are allowing fewer than 20 shots a game over the last 3 weeks - this is bad. This is happening because the league is simply not calling penalties. TJ Brodie got called for interference in the 2nd period of the NJD-CHI game. Alexis Lafreniere got called for slashing in the 3rd period of the NYR-NJD game. That's 265 minutes between penalties called for player-on-player infractions that resulted in a power play for New Jersey - every other infraction in between (the 4, spread across 4+ games) was either delay of game, unsportsmanlike conduct, or too many men on the ice. It's ridiculous.

It’s obvious and it’s awful but few seem to care about it.

To be fair I certainly don't care if teams against us get under 12 shots every game as long as we are winning lol
Get it but in thr big picture it’s bad for thr game. Beyond that my guess is that if they actually called all the interfernce and teams were forced to skate the Devils would be even better
