He cannot make in-game adjustments. He has the players. He has the size. He’s not coaching them to be physical enough.brindamour should 100% be fired

I don’t think he has the players. Specifically, he doesn’t have the goalie. He cannot make in-game adjustments. He has the players. He has the size. He’s not coaching them to be physical enough.
anderson is the current era brian elliott.I don’t think he has the players. Specifically, he doesn’t have the goalie.
The goalie? True that.I don’t think he has the players. Specifically, he doesn’t have the goalie.

Maybe by the time But and Simashev are 23 like Broberg and Holloway were this season. But they’re both just 20. I expect both to make Utah’s team but not necessarily be big impact players their rookie season.Considering the impact on STL that Broberg & Holloway made; I wonder if Utah just got a similar infusion of talent with Simashev & But signing. Those are some talented and massive dudes coming to reinforce Utah’s roster.
Central is gonna be no joke next year. And with the Blues just sneaking in by the skin of their teeth, the margin of error just went down. Chicago and Nashville will likely still be ass; but the rest of the division will be a blood-bath; though I can’t help but think Colorado put themselves at risk of missing with that baffling decision to move Rantanen. Morons.
I was very high on Simashev at the draft that year, think he could be an absolute beast.Considering the impact on STL that Broberg & Holloway made; I wonder if Utah just got a similar infusion of talent with Simashev & But signing. You gotta point there. It’s like the center position has become a lost art. When your middle six centers are KK and Jordan Staal, I'm not sure he has the players. I think he's got as much as he can out of that roster.
I like Staal as a 3C but they need a 2C way more than we do. But I'm not gonna be too harsh on then for not beating the Panthers. There might not be a team in the league that can.
Also, seeing Bennett try to elbow Anderson in the head the exact same way he did it to Stolarz kinda makes me hope Florida doesn't get rewarded with another championship. The guy is a scumbag. Hopefully Dallas can pull off a miracle comeback because I don't wanna root for the Oilers either.
I think those two are fine as your middle 6 centers if you have the ability to consistently choke the life out of teams and win a lot of 2-1 and 3-2 games. They are built to win tight checking, low event hockey and I think those 2 guys in the middle 6 are good enough to successfully do that, even against top 5 teams. And despite the scoreboard, they pretty effectively did that in this series. They outshot the Panthers 124-110. High danger chances were 53-46 Carolina. Expected goals were 14.7-14.When your middle six centers are KK and Jordan Staal, I'm not sure he has the players. I think he's got as much as he can out of that roster.

As some discussed here a while ago, Toews will be back in the league next season.
And it's all so predictable. They have never prioritized goaltending and it continues to bite them in the a$$.I think those two are fine as your middle 6 centers if you have the ability to consistently choke the life out of teams and win a lot of 2-1 and 3-2 games. The huge problem is that they don't have a goalie who can hold a good team to 2 goals on a consistent basis. Here are the goalie stats for each game:
Game 1: 5 goals on 20 shots for a .750 SV%
Game 2: 4 goals on 16 shots for a .750 SV%
Game 3: 6 goals on 28 shots for a .786 SV%
Game 4: 0 goals on 20 shots for a shutout
Game 5: 4 goals on 21 shots for a .810 SV%
What the hell can the coach or roster realistically do when the goalie is letting 1 of every 5 shots in?
And to make matters worse, they always seem to come in bunches. Freddie allowed 2 goals in 4 minutes in the 1st period of game 1. They were the 2nd and 4th shots he faced. He allowed 3 goals on 5 shots in the 1st period of game 2. The 1st was 1:17 into the game and the next 2 were at 11:40 and 15:40. Kochetkov at least held down the fort through 40 minutes in game 3. But then he allowed 5 goals in 11 minutes in the 3rd period. And then you have last night. Carolina was outshooting Florida 14-7 and up 2-0 approaching the midpoint of the 2nd. 30 seconds later it is 2-2 and shots are 14-9. 4 minutes later it is 3-2 Panthers and shots are 14-10. 5 minutes, 3 total shots against and a 2-0 lead is suddenly a 3-2 hole.
They're not all bad goals, but it's not like every play was unstoppable back door tap ins. I just don't see how a roster designed to smother teams and play low event hockey can be expected to have any success when that is what the goalies are doing. It's hard to play from a deficit when your goalie doesn't start the game on time. And it's really hard to protect leads when you know a 2-3 goal flurry could be coming at any moment.
WPG or ANA would be my guessThis has Toronto written all over it IMO, they will be desperate to bring in guys who know how to get it done in the post season.
I mentioned this in the other thread, but ANA is pretty far fetched. I get the Q connection but Toews isn't coming back to just play in some regular season games, he will join a contender.WPG or ANA would be my guess
He has 3 cups.he may just miss the camaraderie or be attracted by the thought of mentoring younger players. He may want to chase cup 4, but I wouldn't rule out a younger team or a team with familiar faces.I mentioned this in the other thread, but ANA is pretty far fetched.
