Around the NHL 2024-2025

I still think since the guy owns both the jazz and the mammoth he should have named them the jazz and used the same color scheme. I always liked the jazz colors.

Another thing that shouldn’t be discounted on these 6 on 5 situations is good clean line changes after clears. Toronto did that well tonight holding on. Pretty well executed by the Leafs over the final 2:40 with Bob pulled.

The Jets failed to score 6 on 5 to tie up Game1 at home. But Scheifele played, and scored a goal. They didn't look any more tired than The Stars. But I don't have much confidence that The Jets will win this series after the physical beating they took from The Blues. I hope they'll win this series and win The Cup. But it's an uphill road.

I'm surprised the Colorado Mammoth (National Lacrosse League team) didn't object to Utah's choice.

Rantanen with another hat trick tonight. I wonder what they're saying over in the Avs forum. 🤣

I fell asleep with about 10 mins left in the 3rd but I thought the game had pretty good pace considering what both teams just endured. Schiefele’s re-emergence def makes a difference. He’s good. Must’ve been a shock for the Jets after our series. Dallas is a lot faster than the Blues collectively and I think there were maybe 5 hits thrown by both teams. Hellabuyck was mediocre.

I’m fine with Joel getting a 2nd chance. I think he should’ve done better in that situation and I think he played dumb/passed the buck a bit in trying to deflect blame but at the same time, I don’t think he’s a bad guy. And he’s a heck of a coach. That said, I’m glad we’re not the ones taking on that headache.
I don’t like him, but I don’t mind him coaching again. I’ll continue to dislike him, but I don’t think he should have been blackballed permanently. And if I were in that front office I’d have some structure in place to take some decision making out of his hands.

A market were the team is WAY down the media spotlight is about the only kind of place where he could really land, at least initially, and the ducks are certainly that

For me it's not about punishment for past deeds but protecting future players. He still has not admitted he did anything wrong. If he turns the ducks around, what will he do if another situation arises where he has to chose to do the right thing or ignore it to avoid a distraction? If he has to chose between covering up for someone valuable or protecting someone vulnerable?

I'd be much less concerned if he said "I messed up, I'm sorry and I will learn from this". Imagine I am a business owner hiring a cashier. A convict who just served 4 years for theft is interviewing for the job and he takes no responsibility. I don't want him to go back to jail. But I sure as hell ain't hiring him to handle the money.

Hasn’t he at least somewhat admitted fault? I forget the exact words he used in his interview with Strick but I recall him admiring some fault.

Beyond that, I get your point. But I’m sure the Ducks did their due diligence. And they’ll make sure to instill a culture that doesn’t allow for such crap. They’d be morons if they didn’t. And I’d have to think or at least hope the odds of having a sexual predator on an NHL staff would be incredibly rare. But the most important would be Verbeek making sure the culture is open.
