Around the NHL 2024-2025

Good 3C. I liked him in MTL. Honesty haven’t seen a lot of him in his time in LA. $5.5M cap for 2 more years. I wouldn’t mind pursuing him but why would LA want to get rid of him?

That said, my preference would be to more try to get more of a stop-gap at 2C and push Schenn down to 3C…but I also know that’s likely wishful thinking.

That said, we need at least a 3C IMO. Love Sunny and want to keep him as a winger or as an extra but you just can’t really be a super competitive team with your 3C scoring 20 pts in a season and being 44% on the dot. Compete with Torpo, Joseph, Walker, Tex etc for a bottom-6 winger role? Sure, but Sunny shouldn’t be the 3C anymore. He could be the 4C if they don’t retain Faksa but I’d like to see Faksa return for another year…or at least someone similar.

So in that regard, if they can’t bring in a legit 2C, someone like Danault to play 3C would be great…but I doubt LA would be looking to move him.
They shouldn't move him but also it's LA. They've lost to EDM in the first round how many seasons in a row now? Look at how wild they were with the PLD/Vilardi trade and then jettisoned PLD to Washington a season later.

I'd say get as creative as you want looking at the LAK roster because it's something Blake may actually be willing to consider.

So crazy. People were throwing dirt on the Oilers grave and they pull off the reverse sweep. I still think they look nothing like a serious contender. I really thought the Kings were ready to take a step forward.

Is it really a reverse sweep if the other team never won 3 games first? Also, they should give credit to Byfield for that f***ing over of his own team in game 3.

brady tkachuk scores a big goal when his team was down and needed a goal. cant wait to trade kyrou for him
Why would we do that?
Brady is clearly a loser, as he cannot even lead his team, as captain, to more than 2 victories in a series against a team that had won just one series in the last 19 years and are known for being chokers

did I do this right?

Any team with McDavid going psycho mode is a serious contender. I think that Edmonton has badly bungled the McDrai era and has failed to built the type of team around them that they should have. But I don't count them out as contenders when I see McDavid being absurd. They rely on him to do it way too much, but that guy can just takeover and win a game in a handful of shifts.

I think that they could get outplayed two-thirds of the time and still win the Cup.

Yeah, I don't have Edmonton winning, but they are never out of a series with McDavid and Draisaitl. Even when they aren't scoring, it's incredibly difficult to score against them, and they log a ton of mintues. In the OT game this series, they both played over 30 minutes, and were 2nd and 3rd on Edmonton among skaters.

I don't see them winning a Cup with them being so dependent on them, but they'll never be an easy out either.

I'll enjoy watching that, if it happens. I'm skeptical.

the first time McDavid has won anything since 2016 was because of Binnington, maybe he could get him to sign a 1 year deal here to go for a cup. one and done type thing. Pipe dream I know, not to have McDavid but just to see the oiler fans flip their shit.

any players from LA that are worthwhile pick ups if they do a firesale?

Kempe as winger (They won't for sure)

Danault as stop gap center would be good fit.

5.5 mil for 2 years. 45-50 pts and has been pretty solid in the playoffs besides last year. Would be great fit if Dvo isn't ready to play in NHL next year.

Anderson wouldn't be bad fit as LHD.

Clarke as prospect.

stars should not be struggling to score on this guy
They’re missing their most valuable home ice advantage. They got cup size lady behind the bench working overtime but where’s this guy when the team needs him?

Pretty sure every series in the opening round had at least one game that went to OT, with the exception of ours...

I like the Blues’ chances against the Avs much more than their chances with Dallas. Plus beating Colorado would be much more satisfying than a win over Dallas since their fans are exponentially more unlikable.

With that said, Blues have that little issue with winning Game 7 in Winnipeg to deal with first, and they haven’t given much reason to think the fourth attempt at stealing a game in WPG will be the charm. Which would be a shame, because if Winnipeg holds onto their home-ice advantage Colorado will basically have a bye into the Western Conference Final. Zero chance of Hellebuyck recovering against the Avs. None.

wow thats some awful defense by the refalanche. gave rantanen all day to shoot

Time is ticking for Matt Duchene to redeem himself this game.

He had a soft back check on the shorty, now a dumb penalty. He’s a pending ufa who’s maybe playing his way out of the tax haven.
