Replacement for a potential Gibson trade? Neither of their AHL goalies are worth calling up at this point. I doubt they'd take on a $4M+ contract just to send the guy to the AHL. There are far cheaper options to shore up AHL goaltending.
Definitely possible. If I'm a contending team though, Gibson scares the hell out of me. The guy seems like he's constantly banged up.

Colorado to acquire Ryan Lindgren and Jimmy Vesey. Jusso Parssinen and Calvin deHaan headed back the other way with draft picks.

Minnesota working to acquire Gustav Nyquist from Predators but struggling to free up roster space with that jackass Hartman suspended and a couple day-to-day injuries to other players.

Things are heating up!

They save the real talent for important games like the Winter Classic.

No thanks but I assume this is a trade that actually happened?
Yeah Friedman just broke it. It's actually a 2026 1st. I wonder what we could get for Faulk in the offseason

getting rid of his contract is big i guess but thats still a terrible return for jones. that 1st is going to most likely be a late round one.

I've always liked Spencer Knight even though he's had his ups and downs. Seth Jones is overrated with a bloated price tag. I like the return Chicago got for him. Sure the first is going to be a late round pick but anytime you are dealing with a contender, you understand that.

Does anyone else find it amazing that the Oilers gave Viktor Arvidsson a no-move clause and Ryan O'Reilly's agent couldn't even get him a no TRADE clause?

Not really, ROR knew it may be his last (big) contract and may have prioritized money over anything else.

ROR likely figured that if he was going to be traded, would be to a contender who prioritized him while Arvidsson feared he could be shipped off to a cellar dweller as cap dump.

I guess but he was one of the most marketable players that summer and one would think some type of trade protection would’ve been a no brainer. I guess not…

RoR has never had a trade clause in his career. Maybe it's just not something he cares about.
That's great. Again, it's just weird. Especially with a young family and the fact that Friedman keeps reporting that Nashville is treating the situation as if he HAS a no-trade clause. Anyway, moving on...
