Walman isn't that great overall and clearly he's doing something behind the scenes to rub management the wrong way. Two teams have already given up on him and he's clearly done something to get scratched in SJ despite putting up points. He's pretty bad defensively, which is an issue for a defenseman.

Barry Trotz is already hinting at a potential rebuild in Nashville. That’s hilarious. I hope they burn.
Didn't Army do something similar in early 2019? I think he had deals in place for Schenn and a couple others, and then Gloria happened.

Then again i was stuck in the middle of the ocean for the entire 2018-19 season until the 3rd round of the playoffs so I could be remembering things incorrectly.

You picked a really bad year to be stuck in the middle of the ocean.

Was that a real quote? I saw it and assumed it was said in jest. Perhaps should have considered that before spending the GDP of a small nation in free agency, Barry.

I wouldn't be surprised if he promised the vets on that team like Saros, Josi and ROR that he would go out and add some veteran talent in the summer. I'm not gonna bash him until the season's over but it doesn't look great for them now that's for sure.

I am a Barbie fan. I'd have been happy if we kept him. But we wouldn't gave gotten these numbers. We don't gave an Eichel to pair him with.
I completely agree about not getting these numbers. Despite that, I still think we should have kept him. We could really use his energy and jump. He’s just a lunch pail type of player, who could have consistently brought us 40 ish points. He’d just a “Blues” type of player.

I don’t think we were going to be able to pay Barbs like he got. I would have LIKED to keep him but overall i know he and us weren’t going to be a match long term. I’m just happy he found a place that paid him and treats him well.

I am but one guy with an opinion. But I think a guy that can score 40 goals and play throughout your lineup is really valuable. I’d have been fine paying him 5 million.

I know they went on the crazy month+ hot streak last year, but Nashville's season feels pretty much on the line in the 2 weeks. They are currently 6 points out of a playoff spot, which is already a tough hill to climb. But more importantly, they are about to play basically all the teams that they need to catch.

In the next week they host Utah and then go on the road against Colorado, Edmonton, and Calgary. That is the 2 current Wild Card teams plus 2 teams who are currently a couple points behind the cut line but expected to be better. It is a good schedule from a 'control your own destiny' point of view, but the flip side is that they'd be giving points to direct rivals if they can't right the ship.

Then the following week, they play Vancouver, Seattle, and Winnipeg. Not exactly a week where you can pencil yourself in for 4+ points to start gaining ground.

All told, 5 of the 7 games are on the road and they currently have a 1-3-1 road record.

Not sure there is a team in the league that needs to be as desperate as they need to be right now.
