Michkov was declining meetings from teams and his agent was muddying the waters about when he'd come to the NHL until the instant he was drafted by his preferred destination, when suddenly the answer was a resounding 'I want to get to the NHL quickly.' Let's not act like it was just because teams are scared of Russians for no reason when the player is actively trying to prevent teams from picking him.

He was drafted 1 spot behind Bolduc in 2021. Was a pretty highly touted prospect a couple years ago but has then stagnated and dealt with a lot of injuries. Now we know why…tough break for him.

You still take him. Don't let some 18 year old kid overpower your organization. Absolute worst case you trade him and his value is extremely high. Was a bluff that teams were scared to call. When has a highly drafted Russian ever held out to the point of not coming over? Just doesn't happen
