Salt Lake is a good market for hockey, lots of winter sports going on there already
If you're asking if hockey can get any whiter, the answer is absolutely.

It'll probably be a great market and it'll put some more money in our owners' pockets to (hopefully) invest in the team.

Would prefer Portland Oregon gets a team over Atlanta, adding a team to Portland means you move the Utah team to Pacific division and move Calgary and Edmonton to the Central where they belong.
I just don’t think there’s a market for a team in Portland. Living here it’s all about the Blazers. Not many people seem to care about the winterhawks from my experience

Man, that makes me sad for the fans. Also makes me appreciate the Samueli’s more. I have my criticisms about them but at least they are committed to keeping our team here.

It really is no fun when the team you follow and invested so much time (and money) in is the fodder for relocation. The late 1990s/early 2000s MIghty Ducks were always included in relocation speculation by some media and a lot of NHL fans; and when Disney announced they were selling the team, the relocation talk picked up. That's why I was so thankful the Samuelis were local, OC residents who also managed the Honda Center because that would mean that the Ducks would stay in OC.

Not really. If St. Louis loses a game, it’s pretty much over.
Just saw Vegas plays us and Chicago to end the season. So they’re 99% in.

Clown franchise.

I love the idea of hockey in Utah, it fits the area. There are some weird laws that I wonder how they would affect concessions but the NBA has worked so thats probably a nothing-burger.

The AZ arena thing has been very weird to watch. Getting kicked out of an arena, no cities wanting the team in their zip code, playing in a 5000 seat college arena. Its like the state is saying "we dont want you", yet they continued to persist. Now they are talking about moving the team only to turn around in like 4-5 years and putting an expansion team there.

Im also curious about the amount of teams were going to end up having int he league. As far as I know, the NHL already has the most teams out of any league. Does that start to water down the product? You start to include guys on the roster that belong in the AHL. Whats the goal? 38 teams? 42? 50?
