Anaheim’s new coaching staff has two former coaches of Johnston so they know what they’re getting.

New HC Greg Chronin was an Assistant/ Associate Coach for the NYI between 2014-18. Johnston joined the organization in 2015 and made the big club (part time) in 2017–18.

New Assistant Coach Brent Thompson was the HC in Bridgeport from 2011-23.

They want Mr Punchy Face to give them toughness and blah blah blah.

Their kids should be safe between him and Gudas, because you know nobody would dare hit them with those two on the bench or in the press box.

bedard is slow. but has the most insane wrist shot ive seen. as much physicality as a slight breeze. lazy skater. great passing and awareness.

He’s on a PPG pace so far. Game isn’t over so maybe he goes for 164 points or more this season.

I get that the focus and hype on bedard is way over the top…but that doesn’t mean he isn’t a rare talent. Downplaying his skill and likely potential is no less annoying than the overhype.

I’m a little skeptical about his shot translating. He seemed to score a lot of very non-NHL goals. But you could say the same for much of Jack’s game too.

Yeah Jack didn't look like a superstar right out of the gate either, so everybody should be patient with him. Although Jack didn't have nearly the hype and attention his rookie season as Bedard is going to have.

The Bedard hype sucks but he's a unique player who is very likely to become a superstar. I maybe understood all the bitching about this kind of thing back when the Devils were winning Stanley Cups without superstar forwards and the league and television clearly didn't like them a whole lot, but they have Jack Hughes now.

Ive been sick of Bedard for a while. Saving grace is at least he's out west and we wont have to see him very often.

Also Chicago is a terrible franchise that didnt deserve a first over all.

Could have had Mason Geertsen to "play" defense AND wing a week earlier.

the 95 team was a totally different era imo the 2000 team had skill but the 2003 team man that was some tough watching if you ask me. i remember going to a playoff game against the bolts it felt like it was a middle of the week regular season game in nov.

He will be a great player and have a great career, no doubt. But it reminds me of early Sidney Crosby, where every time he would dump it in and go off for a line change you'd have Eddie Olczyk and Pierre McQuire salivating over how it was the most brilliant line change in NHL history.

5:30pm on a Tuesday is such a weird start time, I know it's Tampa and a lot of people retire to Florida but it's still really early for a weekday game unless people have off today for work down there or something else I don't know about? Lol

I believe the time was due to ESPN, showcasing 3 games. And Florida is no longer for the retired. It was one of the fastest growing states, especially after Covid. It’s also not that cheap to live there anymore.

THIS. It's so nauseating. Like, he hasn't done anything remotely close to what McDavid has done yet but you'd think he already surpassed him. FWIW, I was absolutely disgusted by the Crosby hype too, he's a good player but man it was annoying. McDavid is probably the only player I think deserves it.
