I could see the current DOPS group not bothering to look up the schedule and suspend someone for a preseason game that gets pushed into next season because they don't play anymore preseason games.

I'm not sure what would be better for this drama, Korpisalo playing out of his mind to start the season or Korpisalo completely sucking to start the season.

why is the owner agreeing to pay out $4.4M if he doesn't have to? Goodwill? Avoid bad PR (never stopped Vegas before)...

that's a very good question, i don't know either. it could very well be PR as i said yesterday, or it could be some shady shit like they tell lehner not to report, he agrees and gets his bag with no cap hit. in any case, hopefully something leaks soon and we learn the answer.
