I don’t think the name is that bad. It’s less boring than the rest of them and could be kind of fun, it gives you branding options.

However, the logo is horrendous. The colors are bad.

The logo is bad, but the location thing is no different than the Giants and Jets playing at MetLife.

As long as it doesn't affect the ice quality for Devils games, I'm fine with it if they use the building for other teams.

It is different though, the Jets and Giants at least have a history of playing in NY, but even bigger is that they already have well established fan bases. They should still be called NY/NJ too but this is a brand new team that played in Long Island, Bridgeport and Newark last season. They absolutely should have went with NY/NJ Sirens or the Tri-State Sirens.

There's 0 reason to alienate any part of your potential fan base when you're a brand new team starting out in a niche sport as it is and there will be people who won't go because of the NY only name.

I like the idea of gender coding the team name, especially with mythological creatures. Hate saying they are from NY but what can you do.

yeah thats a really stupid name if they were going to be playing in jersey the least they could do is call them tristate like someone said. are they going to be playing on the prudential ice or the practice rink ice?

Their explanation was because when you score a goal you hear a goal siren and because you know, big cities have sirens, ambulances, cops, fire trucks lol

What he have they say 6 beers? Hard to believe that affected a big time drinker if his wife says he drives like that all the time. Him driving like a jack ass trying to pass on the shoulder was a bigger factor imo. I’m shocked with how bad drivers are now it doesn’t happen more often. Damn shame

I'm not a fan of the font for the lettering but their new jerseys are pretty damn good. I still kinda wish they'd have just gone back to the old purple and teal, but this is so much better than the webbed D garbage.

Yeah it sounds like the alcohol probably wasn't much of a thing. It's impatient, road rage driving and lack of consideration for others using the road. I've been yelled at, mock sideswiped (where they come at you and last second swerve), honked at while cycling on the road. To the point where I no longer feel comfortable doing it.

Even running, people aren't paying attention and they're going way too fast. They over-compensate for you, but also for cars coming the wrong way, which leads to some scary situations. I always run against traffic (as you're supposed to when running or walking) because it's insane. I try to wear bright shirts so I can be seen. I won’t ride on open roads anymore. Way too dangerous. I stick to my neighborhood if I’m not going to the local trails

Okay...umm....I have not been around here often (watching NFL football and everything) but this is the first time I'm reading and hearing about this and I had to do a double-take....no...a triple-take.

So excuse me while I bellow out one big : WTF????

This is horrible and that guy here should be locked away for life.


I know I have made fun of Johnny and his decision to go to Columbus and everything but that's NHL stuff.

The man outside the NHL deserved better than have it taken away like it was. GODDAMMIT!!

I do a ton of walking, and after this tragedy I've started to think about this a whole lot. I'm really on edge while walking now. It's not even just on the road where I feel like someone is gonna run me over. It's also when they're coming out of parking lots.

I also cross a busy highway sometimes when walking. It's a straight away, so I will say, if I get run over crossing the highway by oncoming traffic, I think I would deserve a lot of that blame. There's the little island or median in the middle of the highway that I stand on. I'll cross one side, stand in the middle and wait for the other side to clear and cross.

But it's when people are turning off the road and still going 30 MPH when turning off the road, that's what I have no control over. One night almost 2 years ago somebody coming off the highway was probably still going 30 or more MPH when trying to turn left off of the highway, so I was crossing it and the person was so close to just barreling into me. Now the person was either f***ing with me, which is pretty sick in itself. Or they were just not paying good enough attention. I'm not gonna blame their eye sight or not paying attention for them cutting off the highway still going way too fast though.

It rattled me a little bit, but it wasn't until later that night that I was like ''Man, I almost got run over tonight''.

Yes, it f***ed me up the last couple of weeks. I took this death kind of bad for a person I didn't know in real life or a guy that wasn't even on my favorite team. It already feels like the story has gotten buried and forgotten only 16 days later.

31 year old gets run over by a drunk or just careless, reckless driver and killed. Guy had a young family. His brother wasn't even 30 years old and had a kid on the way and he's killed.

I definitely understand this. When running people have turned onto this secondary road (but still well within a residential area) aggressively to try to "beat" someone coming toward them already on the road. There's a couple of roads that intersect at an angle. So when they gun it, they sometimes clip or worse are halfway into the grass of the shoulder -- I run on blacktop, so, I'm very much in the target zone. One particular instance I wasn't hit because thankfully I wasn't close enough, but he came DAMN close to hitting me, and I also had to scuttle further into the brush myself.

People really can be pricks. I'm just out here trying to be healthy and use the roads we all pay for.
