They had to be thinking they could get the kids to buy into the idea of taking less now to be rewarded later. Matthews dented that idea a bit and then Nylander blew the doors off of it. Now, their offseason is real interesting. I don't think they can lose Marner for picks, so they're going to match whatever is out there. But Kapanen and Johnsson? They're going to need to move someone.

I figured Colorado would be all over him. Interesting move by the Flyers, happy to have them eat some cap space as they are one of the Trouba rumors and they have more fire power in terms of their farm system and young players that they likely could include in my opinion.
