Dean used to be amazing. Now he is full of bombastic comments and too busy yukking it up with Denis to call the game properly. Too bad really. I was one of the people who didn't find Gord Wilson to be annoying either, so I always liked that tandem back in the day.

He still can be if he brings his CBC mentality over.

I once watched a Sportsnet intermission panel of a Canucks game and it gave me a headache.
One guy was shouting and arguing for 3 mins straight why the Flames should not have traded Iginla because the best offer was bad, when they weren't even covering the Flames.
 
So typical that the refs in the NHL call a phantom faceoff penalty on regin and yet miss things like the Hall slash. Refs are so inconsistent this year.

Dean has always been a bit of a windbag.I like him as long as he doesn't get too sidetracked.

Dean and Gord yakked it up so much that they sometimes lost track of whatever was going on in the game..

Dean and Denis is a better combo-they don't have the same long years of experience together as Dean and Gord and therefore don't have the same store of inside jokes and endless anecdotes that go on forever.

Anyone who thinks Denis is a homer just give a listen to Gord Wilson. At least Denis has some interesting and offbeat observations.

Gord Wilson and Shriebs are fine and Gord has found his niche as the voice of the Senators on their website.

gord is 'supposed' to be a homer though. All the radio guys are.
 
I usually pay no mind to the announcers but it's true that over the last few games Dean and Denis have taken their chit chat to a whole new level and it was actually annoying to me.

I hope they get told to keep the chit chat shorter; I'm fine with it as long as it doesn't last 3 minutes

Denis makes really good points, and knows the game really well obviously. But he's a blatant homer. No, no, NOOOOOOOOO.
 
I don't understand how people can dislike someone on a REGIONAL broadcast for being a homer. It's likely in their job description.
 
Watching a game where the announcers are on your teams side makes it more enjoyable.

If I wanted to watch a game where the announcers hated my team I would watch HNIC.
 
I like Dean Brown. He calls a game well for the most part, and has a pretty good "announcer" voice.

Potvin is less professionial, but he's hilarious, so that's okay.

Caps up 2-1 on Canes
 
Isles win. Winnipeg is winning 6-2 in the 2nd.

So much for gaining ground with our win..
 
Don't think I even noticed Carolina sinking like a stone to almost match Florida as the worst team in the East. I've been focusing on 5-12 too much I guess.
