Around the NHL — Episode XLXVII

Mavrik Bourque finally gets into a game and he takes a high-sticking penalty on his first shift. Not going to win the coach's trust that way.

1-0 Oilers.

The Oilers and the Panthers are a cut above the rest of the league.

Toronto might have been the third best overall team in the league. They took the Panthers to 7 whilst the Panthers and the Oilers absolutely demolished the rest of the competition. On the upside we took Toronto to 6 games, next year might bring big things for these Sens.

The full on collapsed in game 5 and 7 and barely squeeked out a win in game 6. They are an example of the lamest “took team X to game 7” of all time. A better example is us taking them to 6.

I don’t see them getting past any of the teams in the second round save for maybe Carolina. They are weak and soft, prone to full blown collapse.

Friggen Hell Dallas was so shite that whole series aside from the 3rd period in game 1.

Oilers shutting up every critic (including me).

Hope the finals is a 7 game war

The Oilers have a lot of depth. I think their depth has been overlooked until now. When you can put out a line like the one with Janmark and they can scrub out the other team plus score some goals, it shows a lot of depth. Plus having a healthy Kane who can line with Draisaitl and Perry converting on the PPs make the Oilers difficult to match up against.
