Around the NHL — Episode XLXVII

Mason Appleton with a wide open net and shoots it into a totally out-of-position Oettinger's body. Yikes dawg. That should have been an easy go-ahead goal.

That probably shouldn't have been called in the last 15 seconds of a series deciding game.

I guess it was technically a trip, but just barely. The stick never made contact with the feet. his right hand very slightly nudged his feet.

I get how in full speed with the referee at a certain angle it would have looked like a trip.

Nah that was a clear-cut trip, and should have been a penalty shot.

Mason Appleton with some Erik Condra level hands on that shot.

Jets suck for not being able to band together and pull out a win for Scheifele.

Jets and Dallas are two great franchises - totally different markets but both with elite teams, great drafting and management, have rotated in HC’s and keep winning.

The Hurricanes not getting much respect…. I think they are fine with that, as they were the favourites to win the Cup when the playoffs began… but now the Oilers are ahead slightly

Somewhat disappointing to see the Jets lose (Canadian team, etc.), but not a big surprise that Dallas advances.

The Stars have been a consistent performer for many years, and they have a quality organization. The excellence of the organization starts at the top & works it way downwards. IMO.
