Around the NHL — Episode XLXVII

Leafs are winning tonight and they're winning game 7. This is the turning point for the Core Four.

Someone give me some good trash talk to teach a 7 year old about the Leafs that won't get her in trouble. I tried to get her to remember to ask the other kid if his grandparents were even alive in 1967, but the subtle layers of humour embedded in that line are way too much for kids that age so I just told her to tell him that Brady Tkachuk is better than Mitch Marner.

Pretty sure he’s trying his best to jinx the shit out of the leaves…..
It's all the same to me whether the Leafs win or lose.

At this point they should be going to the Cup Final at the very least. I think on Sunday night we're going to see that Florida's tank is empty. They've been to the dance two seasons in a row and they're tired and they're hurt.

Leafs have been very impressive; all the elements are now in place. Elite talent up front, center depth, big and strong defense that can hold up under the punishment of the playoffs, good goaltending, good special teams, willingness to sacrifice they didn't have in previous years.

They blocked 31 shots tonight in game 6. They want it bad.

Sunday night is a chance for Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Rielly and Tavares to flip the script and I think they're gonna do it.

Isn’t it better and funnier if they don’t, though?

Also, I don’t think I’ve been more sure if a result in like 15 years than I am of Toronto winning Game 7. I’ll make sure I get paid for it too if I’m going to be miserable.

Leafs and Habs need to lose before we do, there’s no question about it.

The fact that the Leafs are still playing while the Sens are not is a bad thing

I don’t give a crap about « Canadian teams », the Oilers and Jets are still alive.

Stopped watching before the 3rd, whoops. Well at least they can lose in front of their fans now.

Dude. Read the room. Even if you believe that, why would you post that on a fan forum dedicated to the Montreal Canadiens?
There’s a couple posters in here that seem like they could really be Leaf fans. Hard to say for sure, but it's something I’ve wondered about. I think I’ve seen them posting in the Leaf forum before.

Biggest change with the leafs is the remake of their D. Tanev, OEL and Carlo who are all bigger guys but not big bangers, they just take up a lot of ice and take punishment. Hoping for an easy Panthers win with leafs jersey’s being launched throughout the 3rd period of game 7.
