I'm not a doctor or anything but I'm pretty sure that's exactly the cause of what happened. Bennett ran into him but it in no way looked violent enough to have him vomiting into a bucket minutes later.

But Leaf fans love getting emotional with their self righteous victimhood bullshit so any sort of reasonable thinking gets thrown out the window, and the Toronto media machine gets working on the narrative.
