Around the NHL — Episode XLXVII

I’m kind of surprised San Jose took Dickinson over him. I like Dickinson but if you’re looking for a true #1 d-man I feel like Buium is the way to go. I get why a team that already has a PP1 QB would elect to pick someone else.

I preferred Dickinson over Buium, but have changed since Dickinson stagnated a bit in his development on the offensive side. Eveyone at the WJs were ass, but Dickinson had a chance to take over and control the offense and i was a bit surprised it didn't happen. Buium seems more confident with the puck and is down to skate with it.

I was torn between Silayev and Buium, the later felt like close to a sure thing to be a very, very good LHD, while Silayev has the potential to be a unicorn.

Dickensen I was less high on, though he's certainly looking pretty good right now.

Perehk kind of scared me, while Yakemchuk seemed like a project with very high potential with a scarce profile (size, RHD, physical and skilled).

Dickinson literally just put up the best offensive season from a London Knight D in history.

He scored 21 more points in 13 less games than he did last year

Knights are stacked though. I figured Dickinson would be able to still keep up production on the big stage, especially when asked to play in a shut down role on Canada. I rated Dickinson higher than Buium during the draft and he still can endup as better, but just slightly more impressed with Buium being playing some absurd minutes while being insanely productive in NCAA

Oh I’m more than fine on having Buium over Dickinson, I do as well.

He definitely never stagnated offensively though, he flourished the most of any of the D offensively.

Me thinks it would have been better finish 8th and facing Washington in the 1st and then going through the Metro Division much easier path. Watch Montreal go all the way to the Conference final. Caps are not a real legit #1 seed.
