He's in year one of an eight year deal sooooo I think he's gonna be staying where he is if that's what they want.

What's the threat? Buffalo wins even less?

We know what it's like, but man, Sabres have been absolute dog for close to 2 decades, and there doesn't seem to be any light at the end of the tunnel

At least there were signs of life in ~2021 when Melnyk was all but sure to sell and with that Dorion to be canned.

Kevin Adams is giving Dorion a run for his money, he's been atrocious

Sabres are asset rich, have some great pieces (franchise D, tons of young scoring forwards, some decent vet pieces, etc.,), but if there's ever a team that needs a GM with some vision its them.

If they had our good fortune of getting new ownership and management in place they’d be setup to be absolutely deadly in a couple years.

As it is, it’s hard to overcome those things no matter how much talent you have. But at the very least there’s no reason they should be a bottom feeder.

Is Pegula even as meddlesome as Melnyk was? I thought he was loaded and loved to spend (even if irrationally) after he opened up his wallet for Leino and Okposo when he first came into ownership

He was voted second worst owner in an anonymous NHL agent poll the Athletic did recently.

But he doesn’t appear meddlesome from the comments, it was more like he does nothing lol. Sabres fans say he’s cheap too.

Dundon was the worst though and look at Carolina. They’ve done a great job despite difficult circumstances. Adams seems like a good talent evaluator but that roster makes no sense. It’s just the same player copy and pasted all over the place.

f***ing Kent Hughes, Jake Evans camp was asking for 4 years x 4.0 AAV, and he got him at 2.85 AAV

Kucherov was coming back from a hip replacement and Stone had a back surgery (or spleen?), totally legit. Not sure about Matthew Tkachuk but it's obviously not going to be easy to cheat on the NHL and the 31 other owners. Billionaires will of course ask for due diligence.

Their forward group is amazing

Guentzel - Point - Kucherov
Hagel - Cirelli - Bjorkstrand
Paul - Gourde - Chaffee
Girgensons - Glendening - Goncalves

My teams this year are probably going to be Tampa in the east and Oilers/Jets in the West. Hoping McDavid wins the Cup.

Plus a SCF and made the playoffs 7 years in a row. They missed in 2016-17 but made the ECF and another SCF just before that.

This is what it looks like when you have best in class management.
Jake Evans is what he is he’s just shooting crazy %. Should have moved him

He's a decent bottom-6 forward who's having a good season. They talked about an extension vs trading him a lot on the radio here and apparently his camp was asking for 4 M$ per season. I wish their GM would have overpaid him but unfortunately he got him at good market value.

Atlantic/Eastern teams making bad decisions/moves helps the Sens.

13 is so weird on Norris

Gotta feel bad for him... ending up in Buffalo while his friends are knocking at the playoffs door.

It's incredible, they're literally one of the most talented organization in the Atlantic... They are like the Sens from 2 years ago but even worse, just doesn't make sense that they're not better. Coaching and management plays a huge part, it has to be more than just accumulating talent.
