It's been hilarious listening to Habs radio here in Montreal as people have started talking about the Habs being "in the mix" again, with some saying they could make the playoffs now they've won three straight. Just ignore how one of those wins came against Buffalo aka the worst team in the league and two against Detroit who barely looks like they're trying anymore lol.

They get BTFO by any team above .500 but oh can they ever win against garbage.

You don't understand.

Lane Hutson is just as good as pre-Cooke Karlsson.

There's that Bernmeister guy on the main boards who was going after me because I thought that Kreider + Kakko for Tkachuk was a BAD trade for Ottawa and nowhere near worth Tkachuk

But he told me that Kreider jumps out of pools though.

Yeah that speed allows him to be a top PKer, he's had some of the best PK metrics among forwards for years. Joseph is good defensively at ES and only average offensively but what sets him apart is his speed and tenacity. He had decent playmaking ability too. I know Amadio had pretty decent results in Vegas but he's just not my type of my player, remember how I disliked Tierney and Greening?

I don't see anywhere in the metrics and eye test how Amadio is a better all around player, both in raw and advanced stats. However playing with Pinto and Perron (if ever healthy) is going to help him.

I find that we need more speed and/or skill in the forward group, Amadio doesn't bring any of this. He's stable but not the type we need to get better overall. And I'm not saying we need Joseph back, I'm saying we need better skaters who bring either tenacity and/or skill

We could have been just as good if not better. We were better positioned than them after the 2020 draft. Just that Dorion happened.

Yeah...Bern is a wee bit crazy. He's the type that would expect McDavid as a return for any Ranger scrub, and still scoff that NY deserves more.

Laine shit talking the Blue Jackets, and then getting injured and his team losing and being a -7 in 8 games is peak Patrick Laine.

It just so weak you can hear people cheer for you for 2 weeks and think you’re back on top. Montreal crowds are infectious but how can this guy not learn a single thing from what he’s been though before and at the very minimum the Jets and Blue Jackets paid you millions and set you up for life, at least show some respect or don’t say anything at all

Don’t f*** with the Hockey Gods - they are real

It wouldn't surprise me if they listen on Miller but end up pivoting and trading Pettersson.

If they trade Miller, it is less likely that they get full value, because he has a NMC. Pettersson does not have trade protection until July 1st. They could probably get a legitimate superstar back for him. The only stumbling block would be moving his cap hit in season.

I wonder if the Miller deal would be something like Kreider for Miller. Lafreniere's former agent is the A-GM in Vancouver, but I doubt the Rangers would give up Lafreniere for Miller when they would be dealing from a position of strength because of his NMC.
I feel like I missed something in the Miller fiasco. Was he actually sent home because of afeud with Petersson and that's why he missed 10 games? All I ever read was he was away for personal reasons but lately I've seen a few things implying he's an ar$ehole and get sent home for fighting with the other stars

The way Laine talked about the BJs is so unprofessional. The organization gave you the perfect amount of support to help you through some tough shit. When talking about your former team, you have no business saying anything about losing culture, especially when you were a significant portion of that roster". Just say, I appreciate everything the BJs did for me and just needed change and move on.

I love the work Laine is doing for mental health awareness, but his comments about the BJs, especially consdiering he signed with MTL, are a special type of stupid.

Yeah agreed I seriously don’t get it. Even if that’s genuinely how you feel, why would you say it publicly.

Can't wait to see how loving the Habs fans and media will be when he inevitably misses 30 games.

Oh wait, he's already nearly done that.

Well, I'm sure they'll be very respectful when he inevitably leaves because he wants to play for a winner.

I’ve been guilty of some fairly blind optimism for the Sens in recent years. Maybe I still am haha

It's a good thing because Montreal need that distraction. Their rebuild was really trending well and while I don't wish bad on others, some things didn't go their way so far, like the Reinbacher injury, Demidov problem with ice-time in the KHL, Laine's distraction (scores a lot on the PP, sucks 5 on 5 and talks too much) and also Kirby Dach and their stubbornness that he must be a core player. Need them to avoid drafting high but also not progress much. They don't have a DJ Dorion duo to lead them so they're not at a huge disadvantage, we need them to be unlucky/waste time.

Unless Demidov turns into a generational player, the Habs rebuild will be like all the others, slow and painful.

Don't you have a history of singing the praise of Montreal's rebuild?

I'm interested in knowing everyone's thoughts on Macklin Celebrini - how good is this kid going to be? 90pt/yr? 100? 100+?

He seems super dedicated to the 2-way game so he’ll probably sacrifice points for wins. I think he could have a 100 point season but I don’t think he’ll be in the top 5 of NHL scoring every year, but he will be considered one of the best 2-way guys in the NHL like a Toewes, Barkov.
