Did they pay out his entire salary? I don't know. As for there being more to the story, rumour and innuendo - but given my bias I'm okay liking them even less than I already did.

And yes, McPhee did take advantage of a situation - and for his sake I hope he never needs another job because I'm sure there are some organizations that won't forget it (or maybe they will...some of those same franchises that should be most pissed also voted to award the franchise and knew the expansion rules ahead of that).

Really this is just me not liking Vegas. Nobody has to agree with any of my reasons, or even agree that they are unlikable.
If I remember correctly, I think they paid all of his remaining salary which is why it was a big story (pundits saying Vegas showed a lot of class in how they treated him).

As much as Sabres fans can be incredible dirt bags, I can't help but empathize with the supporters. They're a small market with a passionate fan base that has been given no favours in their existence, and much like us, is another popular resident of most no-trade lists, with harsh weather being a common refrain.

The deck is stacked against them as much as it is against us.

Plus they hate the Leafs, which is an admiral quality in any human being.

Nonetheless if Staios has his eye on anyone on that roster, pick up the phone right now.

On Montreal's sports radio (BPM) today, they were asking people if they were concerned about the rebuild not working out like the Sabres or Senators. This is exactly what I never wanted to happen

We really need to start making the show to change that narrative. So far so good, Sens have been good lately

Those guys can get it done if everyone is healthy and playing well like you say. But it’s borderline good enough for the playoffs. Ideally you upgrade one of those guys with a big strong mobile stud.

Chabot-Jensen are proving to be an excellent 2-way pairing and Sanderson-Zub should also be in theory as they excelled last season. I didn't expect Chabot-Jensen to be that good so that Top-4 could be very strong and way above average. Unfortunately Zub hasn't been healthy at all and Sanderson's game has been affected by playing way too much with Hamonic. I think Jake is good enough to recover from it but we are actually hurting his development

And frankly, that 3rd pairing is doing fine defensively with a low xGA/60

Laine looks good with the Habs. He will drag them up to drafting 7-9 instead of 3-4.

He scored his first 6 goals with the Habs on the PP. First ever Habs player to do that, of course you never see that
