If Rangers lose and Sens and Wild win, we are in 2WC

Yes, by points, not record…… none game road trip will make or break this season

Vancouver always finding new ways for me to dislike them
They are in trouble, their backend is an absolute mess.

Hughes is a top 3 guy in the league, then they have 2 bottom pair guys in Soucy and Myers, and then 3/4 guys who are 7/8’s playing every night who have been in and out of lineups around the league for the last 7 years.

They got the donuts? Excellent....
I will always have room in my heart for Mark Stone, but even with that, f*** Vegas! Currently getting spanked by the Oilers and if ever a franchise deserved to be humiliated, it's that one.

I'd argue that the Oilers are the franchise in the league most deserving to be humiliated. Their owner has had multiple allegations of sexual impropriety leveled against him. The franchise had an initial run in the NHL way more successful than Vegas and it turned their fanbase into an even more entitled version of Leaf fans.

There's room for more than one franchise to be humiliated.

My rationale - and it's just that, not looking to make this any sort of competition - the Knights got handed the sweetest of expansion deals, jobbed the salary cap (continue to do so), won a Cup, cried over Dadanov, costing the Sens a 1st, and appear to have hung Lehner out in the wind.

We could also add Chicago to the list - plenty of sound arguments to be made in favor of them being humiliated.

He’s out until February, had surgery recently.

He’s a great top pair guy, makes up for the complete lack of depth that have. With him out their D is a mess.

They’re swapping through Brannstrom, Desharnais, Juulson and Friedman, playing at least 2 a night, and was 3 up until Forbert came back a few days ago (and he isn’t exactly a steady guy).

Their own coach came right out and said they have a bunch of guys that they don’t want playing every day in the lineup.

I have some different opinions, although the only one that truly matters is Go Sens Go!

The Oilers are my 3rd favourite team after the Sens and Jets. Canucks are probably my 4th or 5th fave. Both teams' owners are scumbags, but that's sports, where the majority of teams' owners are jerks. I still cheered for Sens during the Melnyk years, so I won't throw stones from my glass house. We're lucky to have a gem in Andlauer. I suspect the majority of Sens fans like the western Canadian teams.

My truly unpopular opinion is that Vegas is my favourite American team. I enjoyed their 1st year run, and Stoner will always be one of my faves. I also like Pietrangelo and Theodore, great Canadian defenders. And Ottawa boy Bruce Cassidy. And I like their theme / uniforms, which is Sens-like. They even did their version of "rise up Sens Army", except it wasn't a joke like ours were, it was done Vegas style with the guy in the Centurion helmet even on skates! Perhaps I'm the only NHL fan that isn't a Vegas fan that actually likes them, but so be it.

Vegas got an opportunity rebuilding teams would be jealous of. Incredible opportunity from day 1.

It must be so disheartening for you to see them kicking so much ass.

No, have been a fan from day one, so am very much okay with them finally showing some signs of playing consistently….. it’s been a long wait…. Still am not getting my hopes up to high though…. The nine game road trip is going to be the make or break for the season. Right now they have an equal number of wins and losses…. We’ll see if that is still the case when they get back to Ottawa.

I wouldn't say it is make or break, exactly.

If they go to an extreme in either way, it could have a significant impact, but if they can tread water, even gain some lower points, they have a more favourable schedule to finish to the season.

It doesn't have the feel of them falling apart, and that win in Raleigh, plus pulling out a W against the Pens should provide some good vibes out West.

I can see Ullmarks leadership (and ability) being a game changer this time, too.

After lucking into Gretzky, they lucked into McDrai. Can't think of a franchise that has been so lucky aside from EDM and Pittsburgh. Hope McDrai don't ever win a cup in EDM, but somewhere else.

Ah that’s adorable - I don’t believe you but chin up kiddo - I just want to make sure you don’t worry or lose heart, there will be plenty of moments still to come in the season where you can roll in with your delightfully unique blend of doom, gloom, pervasive negativity and gaslighting.
