Around the NHL — Episode XLXVII

Habs fans acting like they won the cup by beating half an NHL team lol.

They got outplayed by hawks and a half cane roster. Not to mention lots of puck luck getting out chanced most games in March. The worst team to make playoffs in recent memory. But hey pesky Sens had bad underlying numbers and fluked their way into playoffs and got to game 7 double OT in ECF so not gonna pretend we are something more.

Washington-Montreal is going to be interesting. It will either be a bloodbath, or the habs scoot around them like waterbugs and make them look foolish. No in between.

The Habs are not that good. They are going to be easily beaten by the caps. They don't have a killer instinct, they went on a three game losing streak and finally were able to beat a Canes roster that did not dress.

Furthermore it was hard for the Habs to beat that watered down Canes roster and the fans celebrated like they just punched their ticket to the finals. Even crooked refs couldn't win this team a playoff series IMO.

Caps are a fraud too. They'll choke.

I hate the Habs but they have earned it. Many 3rd period comebacks. I’ll give them Respeck. .

Yeah, not worried about the Habs doing much in the playoffs.

Carolina dressed half their roster and still clobbered them on Moneypuck’s win o’meter. They got outplayed by Chicago and lost to them, same with us and Toronto.

Caps are going to push them around and win in 4 or 5 games. They’re clearly the team that doesn’t belong.

Habs outplayed by an AHL team with a couple Hurricane stars. They are not a good team.
I was surprised at how bad they looked against the Sens last Friday night. I was expecting quite a bit more from them given their record down the stretch.

I think they’re in tough against Washington.

I mean CBJ are a feel good story for sure but league wide Montreal is a bigger market, most passionate fanbase in the NHL, hockey night in Canada. There will be way more people tuning in to watch Habs games than CBJ.

Not to say CBJ didn’t deserve it and their season is a great story whether they make the playoffs or not …but if I’m Bettman I want Montreal in all day for obvious reasons.
A bunch of MTL fans tuning in to watch their team get crushed by Washington doesn't make the playoffs more interesting though. Washington vs Clb is the more compelling story, and would have likely resulted in better hockey, it just wouldn't have brought in as much money.

Tom Wilson coming off his best season of his career. Chychrun only second time in the playoffs. Ovie fired up and big man Protas skating through everyone will be interesting to watch.
