Around the League

I wonder if that would increase the odds of them doing a retool on the fly (and hopefully Detroit plundering a defenseman via trade).

EDIT: Toronto gave NY permission to speak with him. This may go somewhere.

Ok say what you will about Lalonde (including me), he's a class act in talking about getting fired and his whole experience.

There's also some comments that show just how competitive Yzerman is.

(I've never watched this podcast otherwise but it came up in my feed)

Lalonde also had nothing but nice things to say about Walman. If you believe him then the rift with Walman and him doesn't seem to be true. Lalonde makes it sound like it was something outside of him. Just a whole cloud of confusion around that Walman trade.

Continues to be a weird thing.

It might just be the easier explanation that they were just trying to quickly move cap space, they rushed the trade and got boned by Trouba or something else out there. Bad trade, and not oh Walman must've did a drunk griddy in Yzerman's office thing.

Oh well, hockey goes on. He gets to play third pairing on the Oilers and we can all act like he is their number one.

Nurse at 9 mil. Stecher, Kulak and Klingberg sprinkled throughout their D with Skinner in net. No wonder they lost 6-3. McDavid deserves better.

it IS at least partially his fault that even though that has been incredibly obvious for at least a half decade or so at this point Toronto has done nothing to shake up that core though
My concern is that Toronto gets someone more savvy about roster construction. Even if Marner and Tavares are gone, they still have the bone structure to retool and contend.

It’s not league news but I lol’d at it.

Kindl signs with French team

Is he broke?

I looked it up and his NHL earnings were about 15 mil. He last played a full season in 21-22, then made a comeback to play for a second tier Finnish team in Mestis.

Also, nothing in DL? Or Czech extraliiga?

I remember he was at the prospect tourney this summer. He seemed to be in decent shape. No idea on the reason behind his interest in continuing to play, I know TJ Hensick played in the ECHL long after any aspirations to play in the NHL had passed. Some guys just can't find anything else they like as much as playing the game. At least I hope that's the case for a guy who made $15 million.

He played here in my town for two years before he went to Finland before last season.
