It seemed like LA put up a better fight than Vegas.

So far...

Edmonton has 2 elite players and an all around forward group that is a royal pain in the ass to play against. Their D group is solid as well.

Goaltending is their weak spot but they have once again bought into protecting the front of the net. Pickard is also better than Skinner.

Vegas looks really slow up front.

Yep, and they are doing this without Ekholm as well.

An all around strong, disciplined game from the Oil.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Vegas missed the playoffs next year. No cap space to go after a big fish and not much in the way of assets. Some of their older players are starting decline and are looking slow.

Vegas can't afford to be as defensive as they were. They need to press for zone time and be willing to press the Oilers. Going up by two goals and then falling after only putting up 17 shots, only 10 at even strength, just isn't going to cut it.

Other than Florida, Canucks seem to be the only team that can give the Oilers a run for their money.

It's so incredibly frustrating that our franchise imploded during this 2024-2025 window.

The path was wide open last year but Demko's body gave out and Boeser developed random blood clotting.

The path was wide open this season but our top 2 centers could not coexist.

Just watch. This team will have another period of success one day but run into multiple juggernauts again.

What a wonderful year the Nucks chose to punt on.

Absolutely zero surprises over the last couple seasons. Path was set, and we somehow got worse management than Benning.

Everyone should be fired, right down to the boni driver.

If teams haven't worked out Edmonton is weakest when defending you can't help them. Edmonton thrive when teams stop pressuring them, Edmonton (mcdrai and bouchard) thrive on attack. Sitting back is death against them.

They are on their last wind. If you look at the age group of their top guys, only Hanafin and Eichel are on the good side of 30.

The rest of their core group is going to slowly fall off - this is their big shot to go far before a slow decline/eventual re-tool.

Not a knock on them either as they’ve had quite a long & successful competitive window to date.

Miller did an excellent job defending McDavid last year in the playoffs.
You mean our goalies and most the defence did an excellent job. McDavid had an injured wrist and was still buzzing and creating chances but could not shoot the the puck. Miller bothered him for 2/7 games but saying he did an excellent job is something only Miller stans would say.
