Not on topic with playoffs, but it's around the league.

What the hell is Carolina going to do with Alex Semin ? That guy is worse off than Richards(costs more too). I doubt Carolina's owner would ok a buyout, that's a budget team.

All I have to say regarding tonight's games thus far is thank you Tyler Johnson.

Nashville is putting up a fight. No way in hell though for them to beat Chicago 3 in a row.

I think they are stuck with Semin and have to hope he has some sort of rebound.
There was a trade thread a while ago that was suggesting Semin for Richards. to my surprise a lot of Caps fans were against the idea.
In my mind I would rather be stuck with Richards at $5.75 for 5 more years than Semin at $7M for 3 more.

not that it will ever happen in a million years, but I'd kill to see Semin in our top 6. Guy gets a lot more flak than is warranted, and could easily have a Gaborik like resurgence in a solid system. Still one of the nastiest wrist shots in the game when healthy.

Dunno. Chicago's defense is a tad... Porous.

I've said it before, they aren't nearly as good as previous years defensively, and they'll get burned if they aren't careful with their matchups. Not to mention if/when Darling goes cold.

either you use that statement too often or you really over value Semin.
I agree that he gets too much flack for his defensive game, but the guy has shown that he only shows up offensively in contract years.
Don't want him on anything more than a one year deal

The Oilers wisely dumping their ass clowns before they screw up again.

Lowe asked Katz to step down last summer and was told no. Lowe has been looking for a reduced role for a while. Also Lowe isn't fired he is moving to the business operations side (basically overseeing arena development I think)
Nicholson was working on the business side for the past year, so it's not like he is a new hire but just changing positions.
Chiarelli is a great hire.

Good week for the oilers for sure. They are basically becoming hockey Canada lite haha

Las Vegas is taking this seriously!? They chose the colors of black, gold, and gray

There was one little nugget of news regarding the Las Vegas Whatevers during the meet and greet. Foley said the team’s colors will be black, gold and gray, which matches with the color scheme of the United States Military Academy, whose sports teams are known as the Black Knights, the Vegas billionaire’s initial favorite for the team's name.
