Seeing Oilers fans spitting nails at Bennett repeatedly punching McDavid - while getting a 5 on 3 for two minutes out of it - after years of everyone using Daniel getting punched repeatedly by Marchand and us killing a penalty as a result as an example of how soft and undeserving of a Cup we were is one of the finest, pure grade examples of un-self awareness I’ve ever encountered in the wild.

From what I can see it shows Bouchard, Ekholm, Foegele and is that Hyman out there? Bouchard with a half hearted attempt to get in there, in that once he met resistence, he wasn't trying to fight that Panther off to get at Bennett. Foegele already engaged with OEL. Ekholm is the Oiler on the ice behind the net. So, really, Hyman is the free Oiler as 1 Linesmen is escorting Tkachuck out of there, thus that's a 5 on 4 for the Oilers. And Hyman is passively moving in and a small tug from the goalie stops him. You are up big, so take the extra roughing if you need to.

Ever tried going commando in full gear with a cup? The chafing and pinching will put you out of the game in about 15 minutes

Oh f*** me...

It's everything one needs when considering replying to anything posted by that fan base. Devoid of logic, common sense and self reflection. A well filled with bile.

It was a nothing play that fans over sensualize as single handedly losing the SC or something. We lost because Boston out defended us and we couldn't score.

I think this shows the players don't really care about this stuff or think it's overly important like some fans obsess over. They were happy to take the win and I'm sure McDavid is just fine. He's not the first player to take a gloved tap to the face and somehow manage to carry on.

Probably a result of us running out of healthy bodies. You know the "Hockey Gods" were laughing at us then by making Salo probably the most healthy out of all our defenders that final. Wasn't Baumgartner (of all people) basically 'warming up' getting ready to get the call because that's all we had left to call up?

Heard Ferraro’s call on it. But I guess it’s easier to tell someone to get in there than when he played as a 5’9 forward to get in there. Ray wasn’t exactly known for that stuff.

Yeah I always appreciate Ray's viewpoint and I get the sentiment but his series isn't really being affected or overrun by dirty, cheap, or even physical plays. It's coming down to execution on both sides. In that sense I don't think it matters much how they deal with it, but I get not letting your stars get manhandled either. It was pretty funny though lol.

Scoring more than the other team, not giving up weak goals, and beating Bobrovsky is key. Ray was really tough for his size I thought and went to the hard areas of the ice to be effective and score digger goals. So many from 1 or 2 feet out if I recall correctly. I really appreciated the way he played the game and felt a lot of respect for how he toiled through a lot of not great Hartford, Islander, and Kings teams.
