Hate that we're in a place where we're hoping Florida gets this done in 4 and lets Reinhart rest up so that we have one final backup plan for the Oiler Problem™

There is one very valuable lesson here: they need to go back to 1v8 2v7 3v6 4v5 with reseeding in round 2.

This divisional format is so stupid.

What’s really funny is both conference finals matchups would’ve happened in round 1 under the 1 vs 8 format.

I’ve hated this format since the moment it was introduced, felt like a contrived way to build rivalries. If teams legitimately started beefing it might be fun, but the Kings and Oilers have played 4 straight years with it being fairly mundane each year.

I can’t think of one fun rivalry that’s been built because of the format change, meanwhile I can think of a bunch that existed before the format change.

So the cap is going to massively “rise”?????

Yet the NHL can’t find a damn soul to watch the NHL playoffs in the states

Down 38% in viewership
Last its going up by 5.5 million.
LOL Horvat in trade rumors

Can you imagine

well when Lou signed that deal, he knew he wasn't gonna be on long Island for the duration of the 8 years. Basically he did whatever he can to win the cup while he can. Similar to what Jimmy rutherford is doing.
Florida is such a wagon. Unbelievable.

I envy them.

Florida has just four drafted players on its current roster, debunking the myth that drafting well is the only way to build a successful team. It proves franchises can thrive through trades, free agency, and player development.

anyone know why does Carolina get to wear their "dark" helmet on the road and home?

Carolina, Florida, Dallas, and a Canadian team. If Chicago, Boston, Rangers, and Detroit made the playoffs then the ratings would be up like 200%. The down viewership is to "build new hockey markets in the south."

Florida having two teams compared to Toronto having only one is kind of laughable.
