I do really like Montreal... but boooo would have been a way better story for CBJ to get in.

I don't by into this Canada needs more teams in the playoffs either... it the same as the raptors being Canada's team... just marketing crap.

Raptors are years away from contending, they blew their wad in 2019 which got them the chip.

The compulsion that Canadians have to cheer for the Habs at every opportunity is so “basic”. It’s like buying into the Cowboys being “America’s Team”. They have a great game atmosphere, sure, but they are very much the NY Yankees of the NHL and it is absolutely not anyone’s patriotic duty to like them.

If they are going to milk success from a pre-draft era with five opponents for glory and adoration, then they can move over a few more decades and let teams like Columbus have a turn.

They cheered for us in 2011 and I haven’t forgotten that.

I don't know if the posts got wiped in the purge, but a few of us discussed the reports that the Rangers had very strict team media rules after someone was let go last year, and that there were hard walls between the players and team staff, and we speculated a bit about why that would be. This would seem to be it. Ugly stuff.

Additionally, women staffers "disappear" from the team quite frequently. There's a culture of this in MSG. It's not just the Rangers but from ownership down.

Honestly, with all of this noise, Rags probably best to give up this year's pick, even if it's as high as 10. NYR holds tie-breaker vs both NYI and Det, so if they are tied with them, Rags get the later pick, which can be as late as 12.
