Let's skip to where he played so not in Buffalo
21-22 8.9% Dzone starts.
22-23 11.8%
23-24 15.9%
24-25 12.3%

Those are pretty regular numbers of a "buried" in defensive zone starts guy.

Basically puts him as a 2nd pair Dzone starter.
Now add to that the ranger forwards dont know where their net is and the dmen get f*** all for help and its no wonder the rangers d are all struggling

Borgen is a sound defenceman that can get the puck up and play simple but like anyone in that role they see success when they play as a 5 man unit

He's pretty much Noah Juulsen when Noah Juulsen was playing good. Except he's going to be paid 4.1M a year.

What? The only reason Kuzmenko got the contract he did is because of Pettersson not the other way around. That's some revisionist history shit right there.

Absolutely crazy of me to even attempt to point to Kuzmenko scoring 39 goals on Petey's wing and correlating that to the eventual drop of Petey, yes.

Im actually just making shit up at this point, sorry.

Cal and CBJ are the last 2 current non PO teams that still have a shot. Mon and STL have the tie breakers for ROW.

Cal is 4 points behind STL with 2 games in hand. If they win those 2 in Reg, they would be tied in RW with STL but well behind in ROW, the next tie-breaker. Cal needs to finish with either more points or more RW than STL to get it.

CBJ, 5 behind MON with 3 games left. CBJ if they win out in Reg can end 1 RW ahead of Mon if they end up tied in points. MON has the edge in ROW tie breaker over CBJ. So, Habs need 2 points to clinch (they get it or CBJ fails to max out).

Lol you show me
At least give me one of those stupid player cards with all the colors in the bar graphs and stuff
I don't know how this will open but if you go to skater charts and bottom right hand side you can see their game scores from previous years. You will see Juulsen in 22-23 had a score of .3

Borgen also back in 21-22 had a game score of .3

Obviously Juulsen is not able to sustain his level of good player for more than 10 games before taking a face planet. Borgen is capable of playing at the level of a 3rd pair D in the NHL much more regularly. Borgen is still not good or worth 4.1M a year. He's ahead of VD.

I know paying for capable D is really expensive, even 3rd pair but not 4.1M a season.

Other than the start of this year, he's been a solid #5 for the rest of the last 3 seasons.

He's not a top-4 guy and shouldn't be making $4 million but he's a solid player when used in the right role.

he's only ever looked good paired with oleksiak imo and only some of the time at that. he can be an okay 6th guy but if he's the best guy on your 3rd pairing he'll struggle. he's looked completely awful with k'andre in new york

He's currently being played as the #3D in NY on their main high-leverage pairing (Fox gets handed all the o-zone starts). That role is probably too much for him but it doesn't mean he's a borderline #6.

He's the cheap 3rd pair guy on a regular season roster that if you have cap and if you can, will upgrade at the TDL. Lol.

Rangers off-season will be interesting. Curious to see if the trade included language where the top 13 pick is at their option to give or keep or whether it's black and white that they keep 2025 and hand over 2026 as they can't finish above 13OA pick.

Dubas confirmed himself the Rangers can totally send the 11th overall pick or whatever this year if they want.

He said so in the Mpetey Pitts presser.

ok. thanks. Rags currently hold pick 11, but can to 13. This isn't a great draft even at the highest 10th that they could select. Figure they likely end up sending this one to Pitt. Too much went wrong. This season could have been a blip or the beginning of the downward trend for them.

After watching Vinny Desharnais and Noah Juulsen tank our season while we court Cody Ceci and Marcus Pettersson but cant nab them yet, fans cant fathom an actual RHD upgrade, albeit only slightly, because 4.1 is indeed a big overpay.

Will Borgen at 4.1, at christmas, probably saves our season.

I agree its likely Nucks nation is in pure shambles when Pittsburgh drafts 11th overall and takes Jake Obrien for Marcus Pettersson.

Doesnt make sense for NYR to risk it any other way.

Maybe they work out a Lafreniere for the pick back type trade while they keep tabs on each other leading upto the draft though, I could totally see that.

borgen sucks. he looked okay on seattle's bottom pair but as soon as he moved up the lineup he was exposed as a decent 6th guy but nothing more
the bottom pair with Oleksiak that was 2 and 3 in ice time for 2 years? the difference between 2nd and third pair probably isn't that high because seattle ran two support pairs after dunn/larsson - but if we go ice time they were deployed as 2nd and were fine

Once you get past Schaefer, Misa, Hagens, Martone, Frondell, McQueen, it's pretty much a pick'em at that point.

Realistically, anyone drafted with that pick isn't playing in the NHL until 27/28 season (full time) at the earliest.

I doubt that. Marcus Pettersson has been great and an actual upgrade, he did not save the season. .560 before and .533 after. Many factors as always though.

On the home page you can see the Canucks vs Wild box there. Click on the box to see the game score. There are three boxes Wild-Canucks-Full game score card.
Click on the full game score card and it will show you how they got the game score.
