only 24 wins with adequate goaltending vs tampa below us at *36* is staggering

for as much as the eye test has lankinen keeping us afloat all year... yikes

as well - the win% is interesting, but i was curious about the % of wins requiring .900%+ goaltending. quick calc, using standings going into yesterday (based on time of the tweet):

1. edmonton 35/43 = 81.4%
2. dallas 41/49 = 83.7%
3. vegas 33/45 = 73.3%
4. winnipeg 42/51 = 82.4%
5. carolina 34/46 = 73.9%
6. minnesota 38/41 = 92.7%
7. toronto 35/46 = 76.1%
8. florida 34/44 = 77.3%
9. vancouver 24/34 = 70.6%
10. tampa 36/44 = 81.8%

so the canucks are able to win fairly often despite poor goaltending, while minnesota is essentially f***ed and cannot win a game if they have a goalie collapse. i know this was created as a stuart skinner fraud charge (he is guilty), but that's an interesting thought for the playoffs haha.

Our defence was atrocious until around Feb 1st when M Pettersson arrived (along with DPetey, Mancini and Forbort cranking his game up).

Lankinen did his job…but that defense we chose to start the season with cost us the season.

I agree. As much as I'm posses at Miller for bailing on the team, that atrocious defence played a massive part in sinking this season. Who knows, perhaps it even caused Miller to doubt the direction of the team.
