Edmonton beats islander in OT tonight. Mcdavid scores his 997th career point after an absolute trip. It's pathetic on how untouchable this guy is. All calls in favor for the leagues best player, but rarely against. It's getting tiresome.
I don't know if there's a sports league on earth that won't bend over backwards to accommodate its bread and butter, so it's not so surprising. I wonder if Michael Jordan was ever called for travelling or charging when driving to the net.

Well no one in basketball is called for travelling anymore. Well not until they hit double digit steps anyways.

Sidney Crosby.

The guy who initially whined and cried the refs and earned nicknames such as Crysby pre-2010. What ensued was totally ridiculous because there was this weird period between 2010-2015 where he would get mugged, cheapshot, grabbed and hooked. It was just odd because the Penguins would be marquee primetime matchups but the league did a god awful job protecting it's #1 star.

McDavid is just ridiculously protected.

I think you guys are sounding a little ridiculous with the 'McDavid favoritism'.

There are stats showing penalties drawn and despite the fact that McDavid is getting a ton of ice time as well as ALWAYS having the puck, he's nowhere near the top of the list. Why is that? He gets infracted on a ton but the truth is if they called everything on him it would get absurd - he really is that good. On top of that the Oilers are near the bottom of the league in PP opportunities even though they are one of the better posession and 5on5 teams in the league.
There is zero evidence to support the idea that McDavid gets referee favoritism. Quite the opposite actually.

Not going to go further for that chode-like fanbase but you guys really need to tone down the homerism.

I think his ability to draw calls has fluctuated over his career and presently we're seeing him fall down pretty easily and draw the call. It's certainly not consistently been like this.

He's not drawing as many calls as he should be. Like I said there's a stat for penalties drawn. The idea that he is getting referee favoritism is just a dorky homer take sorry to say.

it sure didn't look like the "interference" really impacted his ability to be in position to make a save. Carlson just blew it by him.

Yeah I’ve never seen a call quite like that before. Especially to overturn the on-ice call.

Dowd was standing in the crease slightly but hardly if at all touched the goalie, and was being pushed/held there by the Leaf defender. It seemed like it was called on the goalie not being able to move somewhere he never really intended to move as the puck was blown by him. Really soft.

Unfortunately Luke Gazdic also saw it this way so I'm officially changing my mind.

Washington's defense this game has been just awful, only reason they're still winning is Toronto looks bad too, but atleast are on a b2b.

I'm almost shocked how badly Washington threw this game away after getting almost all the breaks. Winning by two with like six minutes left in the third and literally just blow it with multiple insane turnovers and stupid decisions.

Also ovi plays practically zero defense, if he's not about to score he goes off almost regardless where the puck is, and will still probably do it this year.
