How have they punted it? They're in a playoff position and will likely make a significant move to bolster the top 6 before the deadline.

With our newly constructed d core + Demko seemingly looking like he's back, who knows what can happen.

Is that poster wanting the Avs?

Currently, Van is likely to face any of Edm, Win, LV? Right now in WC it’s either Edm or Win, more Win currently as they are 10 points ahead of second in central and 7 ahead of Edm in the west.

Van is 11 and 9 behind Edm and LV. Can catch LA so not sure how great a road Van would have aside from getting first in the pacific and getting Col? If Avs PP were to click all bets off in a PO series.

Yeah there's only teams with the best goaltending, the best players in the league and a meat grinder (Vegas.)

Totally easy way to cruise to the Finals.

yea - even with heiskanen out for dallas, the west is shaping up to be a grind. counting out the avs is insane - they're a team that could either add deadline or just start to click, and it wouldn't be surprising to see them take out the top pacific seed from the wildcard spot, whether that's vegas or edmonton. unless we can take the third seed from LA, even if we somehow get past winnipeg in the second round, the central is as stacked at the top end as a division can possibly get.

the point would maybe apply in the east - washington has emerged this season out of seemingly nowhere, but could be a paper tiger come playoff time. florida and tampa are certainly not what they were during their cup runs, toronto is toronto, nj could be hit or miss. carolina is probably the team to beat imo, but they've had playoff issues too.

Marc Gatcomb, Rodrigo Abols, and Adam Gaudette seem to have come back from the dead this season. It's like how Chaput and Megna stuck around years after Willie D was banished.

Next season it'll be Kole Lind, Nikolay Goldobin, and Petrus Palmu.

appreciate the optimism but I am not sure how the team can compete without a top 6 matchup center. Where can we possibly find one mid season?
 
Rags have lots of issues. A very expensive goalie playing like shit, Fox just isn't and never was, that great. Zib and Kreider declining fast, and their lotto picks just didn't work out, busts relative to expectations.
