For all the talk about Dylan Guenther early in the season he only has 18 even strength points in 40 games. While getting heavily sheltered with 75% offensive zone start, shooting 16% and his on ice shooting % is 15% while having a PDO of almost 106. Still somehow has negative expected goals% analytics will still love a player like this though.

anything would be better. the bees, maybe.

my suggestion of utah mexican hats is looking better and better.

(google it, it's a distinctive national monument)

but it might be time to pay the licensing fees to go with wiley coyotes.

A bee themed logo makes sense given their state flag. But, I believe their Venom trademark was denied and Charlotte has Sting and Swarm as names for their WNBA and G-League teams. So, not sure they'd get trademarks for those either if they tried.

Aside from Stingers, Bees, Wasps, not sure what other bee named options there are for them.

Getting harder and harder to find a good team name.

At least theyre giving themselves opportunity after opportunity to correct mistakes with all this fan vote BS but its an awful look for the organization. Looks like they found a discount graphic designer on Fiver who had a 3 for 1 bundle deal

Utah Apians or Utah Honeypots. I still maintain The Salt Lake City Soakers is an amazing name.

i knew utah were going to be a clown show because of ryan smith's past work in a field i'm intimately familiar with but i didn't think they'd screw up branding this bad
It really does seem like they're trying to do everything on the cheap. Their arena for instance. It's only an improvement by comparison with Mullet.

That was also a city thing. I was surprised to hear a reno given that the Delta Center is very much like Footprint setup. BBall specific so would need a massive structural renovation to make it NHL sightlines. Figure that would have resulted in a new build given that going new would get them 30-35 years in that building at least. The reno at Footprint only extended the Suns lease by 15 years. Here, you would have the Jazz and NHL so more than likely to get 30 plus years from both.

The all are. Franky is not using “official” correctly. That was just mockups for the focus group.

For sure, there's no way they would spend huge $$$ on professional logos and branding without finalizing the name.
