Devils will never be a true threat with Dougie Hamilton as their 1D.

He isn't their 1D. This is the NJD ES/SH TOI (ie, when the team is actually rolling defensive pairings and not playing a forward at D) :

Brett Pesce : 20:42
Jonas Siegenthaler : 19:56
Johnathan Kovacevic : 19:37
Luke Hughes : 18:37
Brendon Dillon : 17:49

Dougie Hamilton : 16:49

He's being used as a 5D who gets a whole whack of PP minutes, which has basically been his story for his whole career.

Noesen is going to get suspended I think. Although I do think he was partly just bracing for contact.

Granlund is a consistent high-end 2nd line centre and Ceci is a solid 3rd pairing RHD. Neither is paid beyond this season and the Stars got them for a pick that's likely to be around 25-30. This is a nearly perfect use of that asset. What specifically makes this mid to you other than "vibes?"
Granlund is not a consistent high end 2nd line centre for one thing

granlund has been pumped and dumped like karlsson was. with sj he had all the ice time he wanted, and all the pp1 time. he has the highest ice time of his career since joining sj and is averaging over 3:20 minutes a game in pp time which is also a career high.

grier is a smart cookie.

I really hope he gets 10+ games. Hartman has 4 prior suspensions, and tries to injure a player in a vulnerable position. That is a cowardly, chicken shit play. It's the NHL though, so 5 games is what I am expecting.

Yep, 10 games should be the minimum.

Imagine if Stutzle ended up with a concussion.

Even Wild fans are almost unanimously calling him a total idiot.

Been watching more Rangers games recently and I'm confused as to why Schneider is so highly valued by Drury. Nothing really pops in his game and he looks clueless in his own zone when the other team starts to cycle. Looks like a guy they should sell high on if he carries value around the league.
Neither him or KAM look like their development is coming too rapidly, and Lindgren is dragging fox into the dumpster.

He has 29 ES points in 52 games and about 2 minutes on PK time per game. He's around 60th in the league in even strength production and his even strength ice time is right around that of his peers. He's leading a terrible team in ice time among forwards and isn't bleeding goals.

That was my scouting report of Schnieder too and got flack for it here. I said he sucks and still believe it...

I think part of it is due to how quickly he went from the CHL to the NHL, nearly bypassing the AHL altogether.

"if he's this good at 20imagine what he'll be like after 300 games!"

He just hasn't really developed much since his rookie year. when they tried to force feed him some harder minutes this season, he couldn't digest them and they went out and got Borgen. Now he's back to bottom pair with some PK responsibilities. Doesn't really look like much more than a 3rd pair + PK utility guy to me.

Looks like a more physical Lukas Krajicek

he's 13th in the league in minutes played as a forward, being 60th in the league at any offensive stat is not impressive if you are being gifted 20:50 per game. "not bleeding goals" is a compliment i guess. he's -8, which is a little better than average on the sharks.

Schneider and miller have stalled... doesnt mean in any way they are done

Also funny rags got borgen who essentially is who schneider can turn into quite easily - i always wanted borgen

You've made no effort to actually understand anything I've said.

The stat he's 60th in is even strength points. You seem to be claiming this represents underperformance because he's 13th in total, not even strength, ice time.

ha, that's rich given how unresponsive your last two posts have been. maybe spend less time being patronizing and do some critical reading before you post next time. kthxbai.

My prince…

On a more serious note: Millsy spreading his wings in NY and Cythil flying here because he’s still adapting to our system should speak volumes about the inferiority of our system and coaching decisions.

Gudbranson 2.0- big physical RD who is handsome too lmaoooo

Just a percentage of other comparables over the years that have scored at similar rates in leagues as they progress that have become star players. Star players are .7 PPG or higher in the NHL. 10% is not very high.

Flames
Parekh ,Coronato ,Mews, Misa, Zary, Brzustewicz, Morin, Suniev, Basha, Gridin are all above 10% star potential. That's gonna change a lot.

Canucks
Lekkerimaki 15.8%, Willander and Mynio are 9.5 and 9.7%. D generally don't look good.

Nothing is guaranteed in prospects and the numbers will change constantly but it gives a good baseline of how a player projects. Past the numbers it becomes their type of games and development.

I see. I think these things may be interesting reads but ultimately 10% is so low (you said is not very high) it means nothing. It all seems a bit BS to me as it appears very much offensive production based, which as it applies to defensemen is rather useless. Also, Kudryavtsev should be above 10% if Morin is IMO. It also might not be updated. Like Basha with his 9 goals 29 points is definitely not projecting to be a star player.

I never said he projected to be a star player. I said there was over a 10% chance. His updated numbers are 24% star, 20% impact, 15% 4th liner, 41% bust. His current projection is a possible impact forward. Morin has scored at a much higher pace than Kirill throughout the years. It is offensive production because there has been enough of a correlation of scoring and playing in the NHL over the years. You don't score much, the likelihood of playing in the NHL are low. The games are changing though, a lot of D are going to college which is a lower scoring league. In the coming future the models will be updated and reflect that.
